At 136,995 miles (two months ago) the EGR coolers went bad on the truck causing a slight head gasket leak and damaging the radiator. Head gaskets were replaced, radiator was replaced, and EGR deleted (EGRs are notorious for causing problems on the 6.4L motor according to the Ford diesel mechanic). Significant improvement in fuel economy after removing the EGR coolers. All this work with done by local Ford dealer, or ASC certified mechanic. While the motor was Ford verified that the heads are all in perfect condition. All service paperwork can be verified.
WARRANTY DETAILSPremium warranty from Route 66 Auto. Warranty expires March 6, 2019, or at 168,341 miles (whichever comes first). About 31,000 miles left on warranty. Route 66 Auto Mainstreet Deluxe warranty package that covers most engine, transmission, air conditioning, steering, brakes, cooling, suspension, and electrical components. Additionally, 24-hour roadside service and rental car allowance are included as part of the warranty (towing, flat tire assistance, battery jump, lock-out, minor adjustments).Warranty is transferable for a $50 fee. This is a rock-solid warranty. Route 66 Auto covered the cost of the recent head gasket job.
