1997 Ford F-350 XLT Description

1997 Ford F-350 XLT Diesel 4WD

7.3 Powerstroke Diesel with only 148,200 original miles. Automatic trans and 4X4. Power windows, locks, steering. I recently bought this truck from the 2nd owner who has owned it for the last 13 years. The body is very clean and has virtually no rust. This is one of the nicest, low mileage 7.3’s you will find (especially in the Northeast!) Truck is the full Crew Cab with 4 full size doors and an 8’ bed with spray-in bedliner.

When I bought the truck, it had the typical leaking oil pan that most of these 7.3’s experienced. I had a new, OEM Ford pan put on the truck and installed the more expensive Moroso oil pan gasket. At the same time, I installed new track bar bushings, left outer tie rod end, and aligned the vehicle. I also installed new front brake pads. Ball joints were checked and were tight. We tested glow plug relay and block heater for proper operation and they were fine. This was all done less than 100 miles ago. Previous owner replaced any rusted brake lines and they are all in good shape now. Lastly, the roof drip edges had some rust so I had the roof sanded, body work completed and the roof repainted.

The truck started very well on cold mornings and runs great. It is very fun to drive and goes straight down the road without any wobbles at 80 mph. Stops nice and straight and handles as it should. It has a drop down DVD screen in it but I never really used it so I cannot guarantee how well it works.

Two issues that may need attention: oil cooler is starting to leak a little and the factory alarm system seems to drain the battery if armed. When I park the truck and disarm it (lock the doors manually), the battery stays charged. If I arm the alarm, it seems to drain over a few days. I have not had a chance to trace out what is drawing on the battery but confident it is the alarm as it holds a charge when not armed. So if I were to keep it, I would correct that electrical drain, replace oil cooler and possibly the driver side mirror as it gets a little loose. The dash has a very small tear as seen in the one picture but too small to warrant changing anything. Carpets, seats etc. are in excellent condition.

Please look at all the pictures as this truck is very, very nice and original. I also have a cap for it as shown in one of the pictures; cap is in very good condition as well.

This is a very clean and excellent running 7.3L long bed 4WD truck. Hard to find like this!! Please reach out with any and all questions. Thank you for your interest.
