2000 Ford F-250 XL Description

If you have been looking for a unicorn, you may have just found it - I am selling a 2000 Ford F250 XL Super Duty / Super Cab / Long Bed with a 7.3l Turbo Diesel Engine & 6 Speed zf6 manual transmission. This truck is in Excellent condition, as accurately depicted in the pictures, and it is a very rare combination. This truck is a 2wd with a manual transmission - you don't find these everyday, and when you do, they are usually not in this condition. This truck is the perfect highway tow vehicle and can tow a conventional trailer that weighs up to 10,000 lbs (limited only by the hitch, could tow higher conventional weight with upgraded hitch) or a fifth wheel trailer up to 13,600 lbs. Not only can you tow a lot with this truck, but it also gets very good fuel mileage compared to other diesel trucks (about 21 mpg unloaded on the highway). If you are looking for a 7.3 equipped truck, then you are probably already aware of its reputation for extreme reliability - if you are not already aware of this reputation, it's not uncommon to see these trucks with 400k or 500k miles on them. The main weakness with the 7.3l equipped trucks was the 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission, and this is the reason why the zf6 manual transmission is sought after - it is not a weak point. If you are looking for a simplicity and reliability, you probably won't find a better truck. The ford 6.0 & 6.4 powerstroke turbo diesels were plagued with reliability issues, and the new 6.7l is much more expensive to buy, and to maintain. The 6.7's are full of electronics and exotic technology such as DPF filter, SCR catalyst (which requires the use of Diesel Exhaust Fluid), super high pressure fuel injection (injectors are $$$$$), twin compressor turbo, etc. If a 6.7l engine breaks, there's a good chance the repair bill will equal or exceed the asking price of this truck!!! When it comes to simplicity and reliability, this truck is the perfect combo - 7.3l engine, 6 speed manual transmission, 2wd, manual windows & door locks. Additionally, this truck has been maintained well (documented) & heavily serviced recently; here is the list of recent service work:
Brand new Clutch
Rotella t6 Synthetic Engine Oil
Transmission fluid changed to synthetic ATF
Fuel Filters Changed
Archoil oil & Fuel system treatment applied
Brand new Bilstein 5100 shocks in front & KYB in the Rear
New Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires
Brand new Front Brake Rotors & Brake pads
Injectors replaced 40k miles ago at Ford Dealership (cost $3400)
Recent Upgrades:
2005-2007 style grill & headlights
LED 6000k Headlight bulbs (very bright)
Auxbeam 22" LED bar (even Brighter)
2-1/2" Leveling kit installed in front
LED Cab lights with smoked Recon Lenses
Don't buy a 4x4 truck to do what a 2wd truck does better: This truck is more suited for towing on a highway than a 4x4 truck. Many people buy 4x4's and never even use the 4x4 system. Buy a 2wd truck and you will see these benefits:
Better MPG's!!
Smoother Ride (the 4x4 Super Duty trucks of this era have a leaf spring front end where this truck has a coil spring front suspension = much smoother ride & tighter turning radius)
Lower Maintenance Cost
Higher Payload & Towing Capacity
Simplicity & Reliability!!!!
This is a California Truck and has no Rust issues. It Cold starts very smooth with NO smoke and does not smoke with the engine under heavy load.
This truck looks & drives very nice. I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere.
