All ponycars are not created equal, not even Ford Mustangs. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1966 Ford Mustang GT Replica Fastback.
Built in its Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant on July 29, 1966, this Mustang was shipped the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The car, which benefitted from an on-frame restoration, has paint and trim that are in overall excellent condition, as are the windows, clear and intact. The car's lights, including the fog lights within the grill, look great. This Mustang rides on Dayton Daytona S/R radials, P235/60R14 in back and P215/60R14 in front, which wrap around Magnum 500 wheels with three-fin center caps. All body panels are straight and solid and look great and the bumpers are in excellent order.
Under that scooped hood is a 302 CID V-8 engine, mated to a C4 three-speed automatic transmission and a 2.80:1 rear end. This Mustang offers a few exterior GT features, such as grille-mounted fog lights and dual exhausts exiting through the rear valance panel.
Inside, the car's black vinyl front bucket seats are in very good order, as is the matching carpet and headliner. The instrument panel, with full gauges, is also in great condition and is accented by a three-spoke, wooden rim blow steering wheel. The inner door panels, mirror glass, center console and shifter are all in good order. The rear seat courtesy lights still wink on when the driver's door is opened. The horn and the odometer are inoperable. Rounding out the interior is a factory deluxe AM/FM monaural radio, one of the first such radios in a vehicle.
The 1966 Mustang debuted with moderate trim changes including a new grille, side ornamentation, wheel covers and gas cap. Ford's new C-4 "Cruise-o-Matic" three-speed auto transmission became available for the 225 horsepower V-8. A large number of new paint and interior color options, an AM/eight-track sound system, and one of the first AM/FM mono automobile radios were also offered. It also removed the Falcon instrument cluster; the previously optional features, including the round gauges and padded sun visors, became standard equipment.
Competitors to this Mustang in 1966 included Chevrolet's Chevy II Sport Coupe, Ford's own Falcon Futura Sport Coupe, Dodge's Dart 270 and Plymouth's Barracuda.
This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 71,989 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
