A veryused but still fully functional 4-wheel drive Ford Explorer with cold AC and a third-row seat providing seats for seven. I am the original buyer and have taken good care of this car for the 180K miles I have driven it.
The Good: Drives great, shifts well even into 4x4, does not pull, and stops well. Still gets the ~17 miles per gallon it got when we first drove it off the lot. AC is cold with rear seat controls, radio works great, after-market handsfree Bluetooth as well. Class-IV hitchwired withelectric brake controller included. Interior shows it's age in fading and crinkles but no rips in the leather for anyseat, carpet in good condition, dash solid. Exterior has scratches and some bubbling on front of hood, but generally good. All lights work. Roof rack, running boards, several other options, check the original window sticker.
The not so Good: Small coolant leak requires about 1-gallon a month to keep level up. Leak is so small I can't find it and does not leave a puddle. A little investigation might find just a hose or maybe more, but I've been adding water for months with no issue. 2 of 4 windows do not roll down, front passenger and left rear window, cables bird-caged repairable if you know how. Reverse sensing broken.Check engine light has been on for over a year, code indicates head gasket leak due to faulty O2 readings. Since MPG still good, this is a false reading. Crackedrear panel, common to this vehicle. car wash broke large chunk off.
Junk Yard offered $550, lots of parts left.I've been honest on what doesn't work but with 180,000+ miles there are no promises. However, I still drive it to work everyday and it hasn't failed me yet. Ithink this car has a couple more years of driving left, wife doesn't trust it anymore so time to let it go.I bet it will be the cheapest all leather, seven passenger, 4x4 SUV sold onEbay this week!550
