This beautiful car was a 4 year frame off build. It was built with an early 50's hot rod style in mind. At present, the mileage is under 500 miles. This great handling car cruises effortlessly at highway speeds. If you are looking for a Ford convertible of this era, you will look a long time to find a nicer one. Everything on this car is new or rebuilt. EXTERIOR This car is finished in an original convertible color called Maize. The all steel body is stock appearing with the exception of the 134 louvers in the hood and the period correct aftermarket bull nose hood ornament. INTERIOR The top and roll and pleat interior are by LeBaron Bonney. The top is operated by a modern hydraulic pump. The remote controlled radio is located in the glove box. DRIVETRAIN The power comes from a 1949 274 cubic inch Mercury flathead engine. The engine has an Isky 77B cam, adjustable lifters, Lincoln-Zephyr springs, an electronic Chevy distributor by "Bubba" and a Rochester 2BBL carburetor with electric choke. The transmission was totally rebuilt. The rear axle was a total rebuild and 3.54 gears were installed for highway drivability. SUSPENSION The front axle is a stock Ford axle that was dropped by "Sid's". The front brakes are Ford F100 with self adjusters. The rear brakes are stock 1947 Ford. Front and rear springs are SuperSlide with reversed eyes from "Posie's". Tube shocks and sway bars on both front and rear. WHEELS/TIRES The 15 inch Mercury wheels are wrapped in Diamond Back 225/75/15 radial tires with 2.75 inch white walls. You are welcome and encouraged to inspect this car. It is located in Naples, FL.
