For sale is this incredible all original example of a 1969 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon with just over 13k original miles. This is a one owner wagon that only recently passed into my possession due to the original owners death earlier this year.
Exterior:
This wagon wears its original factory green paint that is mostly in great condition. Despite the low mileage, the wagon was not immune to the salt used on the roads here in Utah. As the pictures show, there is rust in both rear wheel wells that will need to be repaired. There is a hole in the driver side rear door, some bubbling on the rear next to the tailgate, and a spot that has been patched in the spare tire well. The rust you see on the front fenders is only surface rust. At some point in its history the car must have sustained some damage to the drivers side front door. The door was replaced and painted to match the rest of the car. Unfortunately the replacement door did not have trim that matched the original door. And on top of that, the incorrect trim must have fallen off at some time in the past revealing the yellow paint underneath. There is no damage to the door frame or any of the surrounding areas. The good news is that the frame rails and floor boards on the wagon are all rock solid with only light surface rust. All the glass is in great shape and the exterior lights are free of damage. The bumpers and grill are straight and rust free as is most of the other trim on the car.
Interior:
The interior of this wagon is beautiful and was clearly taken care of. That being said, there are a few flaws. The dash pad has a crack and the carpet is faded and has a hole near the drivers footwell. The front bench seat has two small splits on the drivers side, and the headliner has a small tear in the rear. When the drivers side door was replaced they did not bother swapping over the door panel, so it is a lighter green than the rest of the interior and does not match perfectly. The rest of the interior is beautiful and complete. The windows all roll up and down easily as the should, the door latches and locks all work correctly, and the front wing window crank open and closed correctly. The factory Ford floor mat is still there and in pretty good shape as well.
Mechanical:
The wagon came from the factory with a big block 390 and an automatic transmission. My understanding is that it has been off the road since about 1996. It is not currently running as I feel it probably needs to be gone through by someone a little more mechanically inclined than I am. At the very least I assume the fuel system needs to be cleaned out and the fluids should probably be serviced. The brake pedal is a little soft, but the brakes do seem to work. The motor will turn over by hand, so I'm sure it would need very little to get back on the road.
Overall this is a really cool old wagon that would make an awesome cruiser or restoration project. Low mile vehicles from this era are so difficult to find, especial ones that have remained with the original owner for such a long period of time. I have the original signed off title and a signed bill of sale that will go to the new owner. I have tried to be as open and honest about the condition of the vehicle as possible, but please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or concerns. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours from the end of the auction. Entire payment is due within 14 days. The buyer is responsible for arranging transportation for the car.
