1928 Ford Model A other Roadster Pick Up Hot Rod Rat Rod
1928 Ford Model A Description
It took me 3 years to complete this car and I finished it about 5 years ago. Along the way I had 2 kids and started working full time. Due to my circumstances, the car has only been used for taking to local car shows, cruising around town occasionally and as a grocery getter. You can tell how little the car has been driven by the wear on the Coker bias plys. Last year I moved to Colorado and it hasn't left the garage since. I tried starting it last week and it fired right up but after a couple minutes, started puking gas everywhere. I believe it is the rear carb float. I do not have the time or the motivation to fix it and feel it's time for a new home. The all steel body was bought new from Last Refuge Hot Rods. Frame was built from 2x4 steel tubing and fish plated in back where it's Z'd. Engine is an early 1960's fully rebuilt 283 with 3 Rochesters. B&M trans was bought new and has a manual valve body installed. Car is loud with open lake pipes. Radiator is a 3 row and was bought new. Driveshaft was bought new and so was the 8" Currie rear end. MT drum brakes were also bought new. I went through a lot of effort to make everything new look old and vintage. Some parts are vintage Ford including the front and rear bones, rear leaf spring, cross member, front axle (which is drilled and dropped), front spoke wheels, etc. I would highly recommend installing a driveshaft tunnel and replacing the flexible gas line with metal. Other than that, it's a great, fun little car! Car is titled as a '27 pick up in California. Please feel free to ask any questions or come see the car in person. It is located in Windsor Colorado. Thank you...
