1969 Ford Mustang Description
1969 Ford Mustang Grande Coupe. This a great driver and super fun. Some work to do if you want show quality paint and body but the interior is great, it’s fast, it runs great, sounds cool, the brakes are upgraded to disc and all the little stuff works so if you just want to cruise comfortably and go fast when you want! If you're serious about the car, please read all of the description and look at all of the pix!
Please see pix detailed description of condition below. I’ve done my best to give an accurate accounting of the cars condition in all respects because that’s exactly what I would want to see. I've included underside pix and can send more upon request so you can see exactly what you’re getting. If you don't feel sure about the condition, please ask before bidding.
Hagerty shows an average value of $11,000 for this and my reserve is well below that. I’ve included a video walk around. I’ve owned and restored roughly twenty 1960’s muscle cars and cruisers since 2001. I’ve done a couple full ‘frame off’ restorations with lots of help from a good friend who is a respected restorer and owns a large shop with an excellent reputation. I’m not an expert or professional mechanic/body man but I have done enough work and owned enough of these cars to have resources and a good idea of what goes into restoring, maintaining or just enjoying them.
A Brief History of the 1969 Mustang Grande: A new model for 1969, the Mustang Grande, which included the Interior Decor Group, an electric clock, special houndstooth check upholstery, and extra sound deadener. From 1969 to 1973, the Grande was Ford's attempt to create a more luxurious Mustang for those who wanted the brand's signature performance without sacrificing creature comforts. Although barely remembered today, the Grande was actually quite popular with buyers at the time, selling over 22,000 units in the first year it was offered. Condition •
Previous owner had professional paint and body work done in 2007. Color is Chevy blue. (I didn’t do it!) A fair amount bubbling in paint especially under vinyl top and at the bottom of the driver’s side door, fender and rocker and near trunk. Most bubbled areas don’t appear to be rusted through yet but are headed that way. At least one floor pan was done and looks like the torque boxes were patched at some point. Definitely not show quality metal work. I have included many underside shots to show the true condition of the undercarriage and body. No holes and it could be cleaned up. One small spot on frame rail that is flaking through as you can see. Lower quarters and trunk which are fine.
The interior is in very good overall condition with no rips or tears. Dash is cracked but there’s an aftermarket dash cover over it so it looks like new. Headliner is good, carpet is newer, door panels are great although the door pull cups are broken which is very common with 69 Mustangs due to the poor design of the cups. These are maybe $18 each to replace or you can upgrade to the metal ones that are now being made to solve the issue of the plastic ones not holding up. Aftermarket wood grain steering wheel.
Rebuilt 1969 351 Windsor with plenty of power installed by the previous owner 8 years ago. Aluminum intake, dual exhaust, headers and Edelbrock 4 barrel carb. This is not the original motor as it would have had a 302. This 351 is pretty stout and the car is fast! New battery and brand new starter installed.
Car shifts great, no problems that I can detect. • I believe it’s a Ford 9 inch open non posi rear end. I do have a 3.00 posi differential that can go with the car for an additional sum. It really should have a posi as it’s powerful enough to smoke the right tire all day. • All exterior lights are in good working order including the headlights, tail lights, fog lights, blinkers, backup lights and the plate light. Interior dome light does not work. Original temp gauge does not work but an aftermarket gauge has been added along with a tach on the steering column. The speedometer works.
Disc brakes added in front, they work great. Upper ball joints and complete lower control arms just replaced and fresh alignment done. Rides nice and straight and steers well. Air shocks in the rear. All the little stuff works – wipers, heater, blinkers, reverse lights, high beams, horn, etc. Dash clock not working. Aftermarket CD player installed.
Crager aftermarket wheels. Two brand new tires in the front, big Yokahama’s in the rear.
Lots of invoices and receipts for parts to go with the car.

FYI: There is no NH title for this 1969 Ford Mustang Grande as NH does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old or require them for ownership. I have sold cars to many different states and have never had a problem. The car will come with a Bill-of-Sale, the NH registration form (proving ownership) and online you can get a copy of the NH law regarding title exempt vehicles, which is on a form issued by the New Hampshire Dept of Motor Vehicles. I can also provide a VIN verification if need be which must be done by a licensed inspection shop or the local police.
