Classic Cars Online is helping the owner with the presentation and listing of this fine vehicle.
You will be purchasing this vehicle directly from the current owner who has owned this vehicle since 1992.
After enjoying the vehicle for eight years, he decided to have the vehicle restored. The restoration stated in September of 2010
and was finished three years later. Since then, the vehicle has only been driven 1,467 miles.
The overall condition of the vehicle is excellent. It is very clean and detailed. It is not a 100 point trailer queen show car,
but would score well at any local ford show. During the high end restoration, great care was
taken to make sure the workmanship and quality was at a high standard.
We will try to describe and go over most of the car, please read and view all of the 92 pictures listed below.
Would you buy a car on ebay with four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO.

Bid with confidence!
Body & Paint: The vehicle was repainted in its original "Candyapple Red" color (Paint code: "T") in 2012 during the restoration. The paint is in excellent shape and looks great with no orange peel or other problems. This high end paint job was done correctly along with all the body work. The vehicle was sandblasted down to bare metal. Any weak or questionable areas were removed and metal patch panels along with floor pans were correctly and professionally installed. There was no body filler used on this vehicle, all metal. The body is straight without any waves, dents, dings, scratches or other issues. The door jams are finished correctly with the correct hardware. The bolts, screws and hardware have the correct plating and finishes on them. The vehicle received all new weatherstripping installed. The correct white GT rocker stripes were reapplied.
Convertible Top: The new black soft top was installed during the restoration. It fits and looks great. Since the restore, the owner has kept the convertible top in the up position most of the time to prevent any shrinking or wrinkling of the top. The plastic rear window is in excellent condition without any discoloration, fogging or scratches. The black vinyl boot cover is also like new. The metal convertible top frame was also restored and operates great.
Chrome & Trim: All of the chrome pieces on the vehicle have been rechromed. They all look like new. The stainless steel trim moldings have been straightened and polished. The vehicle has all the correct GT emblems and other trim pieces. The front grille, light bezels, dual outside mirrors, door handles, exhaust bezels are all in new condition along with the GT fuel cap and GT grille mounted fog lights and grille bar.
Interior: The black interior is in excellent condition. The interior was updated using a new TMI Products custom interior package. The black bucket seats have red stitching with black suede inserts along with the embossed ponies on the seat backs. It resembles the original "Pony" style interior. There is a new dash pad along with a new wood grain gauge bezel and glove box door. The center console with floor shifter has also been restored and looks excellent. The gauges were all re-conditioned and are in working order. A temperature gauge was added under the dash to monitor engine temperature. All of the chrome knobs, handles, buttons and levers look good. The factory radio was updated to an AM/FM with input jack. A new reproduction wood steering wheel was added along with the correct wheel center piece. The front bucket seats have Mustang seatbelts installed.
Engine Compartment: Under the hood of this classic is the correct (A code) 289 cu. in. V8 engine. It has been rebuilt. (Please view the "Mechanical" section listed below for more details.) This very stock looking engine compartment is highly detailed and is show ready. During the restoration, everything was either rebuilt, replaced, or reconditioned to look and act like new. Of course it also received all new belts, hoses, plugs, wires, etc... The vehicle is equipped with power steering. It is working great without any leaks or other problems.
Trunk Compartment: The trunk floor pans were replaced correctly and looks stock. The compartment was restored and looks like it did when it was new. It has a stock looking plaid design trunk mat, spare tire, spare tire cover along with the correct jack and jacking tools. The convertible top boot is also kept in the trunk. A car cover also goes along with the sale of the vehicle.
Glass: All of the vehicle's glass window pieces were replaced with new glass including the windshield. The side roll-up windows are nice and tight. None of the glass pieces have any chips, nicks, or scratches.
Wheels & Tires: The car sits on four all new GT style wheels. These chrome rally wheels are in excellent condition without any problems, scratches or scuffs. Mounted on these wheels are four P195/75R14 "Red Line" tires from Coker. They are in great shape with only minimal miles on them. The vehicle drives down the road straight without any vibrations or pulling.
Chassis & Undercarriage: The underside of this vehicle looks as good as the top. After the entire body was sandblasted, any weak or rust problem areas were professionally cut out and repaired by "The Mustang Barn" in Pennsylvania. Most of the floor pans and some chassis parts were correctly replaced. It all looks factory and there isn't any evidence of any work/repairs ever done. The underside is clean and free of any under coating or rustproofing hiding problems. (Never driven in the rain since the restoration.) It is sporting a new fuel tank, sending unit, along with new fuel and brake lines.
Mechanical: Engine-Transmission-Rear End:
The entire drivetrain is original to the vehicle. This 289cu. in. is running great and is very strong with no known problems. The current owner had the entire engine professionally rebuilt during the restoration. Everything in the engine was either replaced, remilled, or refinished. It was bored and a very mild cam was installed giving the vehicle a little more power and a better sound. That also goes for the cylinder heads. (New valves, valve springs, guides, hardened seats, etc..) Currently there are just over 1400 miles on this new engine. It doesn't leak, tick, smoke, or stumble. The idle is awesome with a strong "lopey" sound. Feeding this engine is correct 4 barrel carburetor. It has been rebuilt and is dialed in for peak performance. The baby blue Ford factory air cleaner sits on top of the carb. The car runs cool and doesn't over heat with a new original style radiator. The battery is strong.
The factory Cruise-O-Matic" automatic transmission was rebuilt also. This transmission shifts nice and easy. It does not leak or make any type of noise. The stock floor shifter smoothly and looks great in the center console. The non-posi 3.00:1 rear differential was also rebuilt and gone over. New fluid and it is working great and does not make any noise.
Brakes:
GT's came with non-power disc brakes in the front, drum brakes in the rear. During the restoration, everything was replaced or rebuilt. New brake lines, brake hoses, pads, shoes, wheel cylinder, etc.. The factory master cylinder was rebuilt. These stock brakes were adjusted and are working great. They do not pulsate, fade, or pull. The parking brake has been adjusted and is working fine.
Suspension:
The stock suspension is in good condition. Most of the suspension components were replaced. They are detailed correctly with the correct finishes. New shocks on the front and rear. The car drives awesome without any shakes or vibrations. The power steering pump was rebuilt along with the power steering hydraulic ram. New hydraulic hoses.
Exhaust:
The vehicle has the correct exhaust manifolds that feeds into an "Aluminized" dual exhaust system. The system has Flowmaster mufflers that gives the car a deep strong sound. The system exits through the rear valance with the GT trumpet style chrome exhaust tips.
