1968 Family Owned
1968 Ford Fairlane Base Description
Grandma kept it in a barn, Son kept it in a garage, Grandson had it for 5 years under a huge Oak tree. I bought it with 56K original miles (for my daughter) in February 2016 . She has driven it about 20K now (she wants something newer). Upon purchasing it, I did the following: new brakes, hoses, belts, spark plugs, wires, radiator flush, engine flush, master cylinder, power-steering pump, power steering hoses (both), battery, new alternator, battery cables, pertronics ignitor, carburator rebuild, new front brake lines, shocks front and rear, new starter, dimmer switch, headlight switch, new shifter bushings in linkage, and after 15K miles we had the transmission completely rebuilt. The engine runs very well, it is good for who knows how long. This is a Central Texas beauty. No rust, except surface-type. It has the original paint job from the factory. The interior is original. All of its minor battle-scars are there to see. This car is 100% original down to its Hub-Caps and its original 1968 Hemisphere Texas Tags (it is registered under these tags). From here it needs paint and the A/C will need upgrading (it is all there and original--a Factory A/C Car). It drives great.
