1983 Ford F250 6.9 IDI Diesel
1983 Ford F-250 Explorer Description
Beautiful well care for never restored1983 ford 6.9 IDI diesel truck. ok here's the story, I bought this truck last year in Seattle Washington where it lived its whole life from brand new, I forgot to take a picture of all the original paperwork but I have everything from the originalford truck owners guide to the actual window sale sticker. I bought this truck because of the incredible care that was taken in its life and since owning it I have continued this tradition.I flew in and drove it cross country to new York without any issues whatsoever. I have not driven the truck ever in the snow (seems like that would be sacrilegious) and have been fastidious with maintenance and improvements.
the good: (last 5000 miles of me owning the truck)-wheel bearings in the front-complete brake system brand new master cylinder new pads and rotorsturned rear drums and shoes some new lines-stereo (Bluetooth, alto I don't know how to use...)door speakers, amp and sub behind seat-brand new batteries-new tires right when I bought it but still in great condition-powder coated the rims when I did the breaks, looks badass without the hubcaps-alternator-fresh oil filter-air filter-fuel filter-all new injectors (one return line was leaking so I just did it all cause that's my style...)-all new return lines -7.3 conversion glow plugs with glow plug button below dash-good working block heater-doesn't leak anything
the bad (mostly the ugly)-couple of dents (but for a truck of this age it might as well be considered character)-LOUD (but if your like me that's what you want, its completely stock so thank ford)-the tank flipper switch is not working ive just been driving on the front tank (it worked when I bought it so the tank is fine just the flipper switch)-cracked windshield but not bad never been pulled over for it
the truck is a four speed with no overdrive so its not going to win any races but it pull the moon outta rotation in first, it really feels like a piece of equipment, very sturdy. Listen I have custom built power coated headers made for the truck because I had plans for this thing... they were 700$ built the infamous Stans header shop of Seattlefrom a jig built in the 80s. I don't really want to let them go if they are just going to sit around in somebody's shop and get forgotten about, but if you tell me your going to eventually restore this rig id consider letting them go but I for sure will use them someday if the don't go with the truck... my plan was rebuild motor, swap tranny for zf5, and make a highway truck outta it but I just bought another Powerstroke and I need the room my loss your gain the truck needs nothing but a caring loving new owner, to take it to haul wood on the weekend, and occasional car show appearance (people go nuts for it) and Sunday drives with your lover.if your flying in to drive it home just remember this, its and old ford truck from an era when men were men so realize its an undertaking without that overdrive, but I drove it cross country solo sooo, yea I'm not gunna tell ya what to do. truckis alsofor sale locally so I reserve the right to end early. good luck serious bidders only and the reserve is set at thirty five hundo but I feel like the buy it now is a fair price, clean title get it while its good, callor textwith any questions anytime 716 560 1079, -Patrick Ps, if you love trump great for you the sticker will peel off so get over it.
