1997 Ford F-250 Heavy Duty 7.3L Power Stroke 4x4 Long Bed 5 Speed Description

Up for Auction is a solid extended cab long bed truck. Will tow anything. Gooseneck hitch and trailer receiver plus wiring in bumper. Has brake controller for big trailers.
New fuel pump, radiator cap, thermostat and housing, OEM Motorcraft glow plugs, fuel heater, Gates serpentine belt tensioner and new starter. NEW HIGH PEFORMANCE CLUTCH, FLYWHEEL, master and slave cylinders.
This truck has POWER! and minimal smoke. Maybe it's the upgraded turbo and oversized exhaust, but whatever the case this truck is a beast.
This is a rare and powerful 4x4 upgraded 7.3 Turbo diesel truck with a 5 speed. Only 10% of these trucks had the 5 speed in them. This is a REAL American work truck.
This tranny works in all gears, but reverse has a little grind at times. Must have worn the syncro a little when the master cylinder was bad.Have a rebuild kit with syncros for the updated z47 5 speed included with sale, but two shops told me the new clutch kit with the solid mass flywheel would prob fix it so I went with that. It did get a lot better with the new clutch kit, but there is still a little grind into reverse sometimes.
(I'd rather be honest than waste anyone's time. If you can't handle and little noise when you shift into reverse in your work truck than plan on rebuilding the tranny. it works great as is, just a little noisy going in. Parts for the rebuild are included.) call me if you want to hear me start it and shift it into reverse. Its not bad, I just thought it was worth mentioning.I'mm 928 273 4811
Good red paint. Clearcoat bad on roof and hood. I have a white hood to match the white camper and tailgate. Red one has a crease near the hinges. I replaced one of the hinges and springs. Operates fine, but you can see in the photos its not quite even with the fenders (redneck cowl induction (HaHA)). The white one is not bent and will be included with sale.
Nice white fiberglass camper shell included too. It's a high rise with a swing up side-gate for acess to the bed on the driver's side. Has regular sliding window with a screen on the passenger side. Has a nice glass window in the lift gate so rear view is clear from the cab.
Good 5 speed. Good 4x4 with manual transfer case and automatic hubs.

Starts right up in sub-zero cold when plugged in, has to crank a little when unplugged in the cold. It is a Diesel ;-)

I've heard that 97 was the best year for the 7.3 International motor. I haven't driven other years, but this truck is STRONG and FAST!!!! Handles great.
Just shy of 340k miles on this million mile International 7.3. I was told by the previous owner it had new injectors put in with the new turbo and exhaust but I don't have any documentation.
Two good tires two decent ones. 275 85 16. This truck should get two new tires to match the new ones for heavy hauling. The tires its got are fine for getting wood or whatever, just not heavy trailers at high speed. There's some sun cracking on them and not much tread left on the two rear tires. Local tire shop can install the pair thats needed for $400.
I'm told the Garret turbo and exhaust are from a 06 6.0 diesel. (maybe upgraded injectors? no docs on that) I can send you close ups of the numbers on the turbo if you want to look it up.
