1969 Ford Mustang Mach I 428CJ
1969 Ford Mustang Mach I Description
Here is a great example of a 1969 Mustang Mach I, genuine "Q" vin code, 428 cobra Jet. All the hard work has been done and ready for paint and final assembly. I have a whole book of pictures of the restoration starting with pulling it out of a field in Kentucky. I purchased the car with the body work done. The car looks as thou the floors, rockers, quarters, inner rear quarter wells, rear tail light panel, front shock towers and core support have been replaced and very nicely done. The doors, fenders, and hood I believe are dyna core replacements.
The 428 Cobra Jet Engine is a period correct motor, the "C" is welded onto the back side of the block. It has the matching heads, intake and harmonic balancer. The exhaust manifolds, radiator, and fan are reproduction. I just had the motor rebuilt and it has only been run a few hours in order to break in the cam. It sounds incredible! It is backed with the matching cast tail shaft C6 transmission. I am unsure if it the rear pumpkin and gear are original, but the stamping number are C5AW 4888 and 9J2S.
As you can see in the picture of the original parts that came off the car, many parts come with it, including the back window and both the wood grain instrument display and clock display that are not pictured. What I am aware is missing are the front windshield, both door glasses, inside door window cranks, and the wiring harnesses. Both bumpers and exterior trim, which I am sure would be replaced new during completion, are also missing.
The Marti Report shows the car not having factory power steering or brakes, but both have been installed. I have a walk around video and a video of the motor running that I can text or email to you.
