The 2015 Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition starts life as a top-spec Ford Mustang GT coupe with the performance pack. Notable design cues include Wimbledon White paint, the same shade used for the very first Mustang sold in April 1964. The colors are exclusive to the Anniversary Edition, as are the louvered rear-quarter windows that were specially constructed from layered sheets of glass. Subtle chrome touches are used to frame the taillights, grille, and side glass, while the unique 19-inch "Y-spoke" rims were inspired by the steel wheels bolted on the original Mustang. Out back, a faux gas cap badge marked with "GT" and "50 Years" is centered on the fascia.
Inside, the dashboard's aluminum trim panels receive an axel spin finish and a serialized "50 Year Limited Edition" number will be located on the passenger side. More 50 Year badges are sewed into the seat backs. The Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition will have an exclusive two-tone cashmere and black interior color scheme, with cashmere stitching used for the steering wheel, door panels, and other interior pieces.
