1995 Ford Mustang GT Description
Up for sale here is my 1995 Mustang GT convertible. It has approximately 93,000 miles on it. I am the second owner of the car, my father was the first so the car has always been adult driven. Most of the miles were put on it when my father was taking care of his ailing mother and driving between DC and Charlottesville several times a week. Car has been garaged most of its life and this is reflected in its condition.
The car is bone stock factory with pretty much every option you could order at the time. Of course it has a 5.0/302 outputting 215 HP/300 ft/lbs torque (this was the last year for the 302). It has the factory optional 17" rims with 245ZR/17s, automatic transmission, factory 3.27 limited slip rear end, Mach 460 sound system including CD/cassette and leather interior. The canvas colored top is also factory original though as noted below it needs replacing. Also included but not pictured is the factory originaltonneaucover in like new condition that goes over the convertible top when it is down along with its storage bag. The factory service manual and the factor original cargo net in the trunk is also included. Other options include power windows, power drivers seat, remote unlock and power locks. Car also has anti-lock brakes.
Condition of Car:
There is good news and bad news about the condition of the car. Overall the car is in excellent shape for being 22 years old though it does have the following issues:
- Convertible top has to be replaced ASAP. It has tears from wear in the back rear quarter area on both sides and it is pulling away from the rear glass and thus will leak air and rain (it has been kept in my garage and only driven on sunny days so this has not caused any issues so rain has never got into the car). Note: The convertible top hydraulics were all replaced with higher quality aftermarket parts several years ago so those do NOT need to be replaced (Ford went cheap and capped the hydraulics with plastic which cracks and leaks over time, the aftermarket cylinders are all metal).
- Speedometer/odometer quit working in the last few months while the car was sitting in the garage. No idea what happened, I just started it up one day and the spedo was dead. Since I was planning on selling I didn't investigate further.
- State inspection is expired as of 8/16 since the spedo quit and it won't pass until fixed.
Otherwise the condition of the car is excellent for its age:
- Car runs great.
- Car is accident free.
- Rims have almost no curb rash and the clear coat is still in excellent condition.
- Tires are older but still have plenty of wear left and are in excellent condition.
- Paint is original to the car and while not sparking new and bearing a few scars, it is in excellent shape for being 22 years old.
- Leather interior is still in excellent condition with no tears or rips. This was before Ford started cheapening things so the rear seat is factory leather. Cushioning is still excellent as well. Leather on steering wheel/shift knob is also perfect.
- Car has always had Mobil 1 oil used.
- AC and heat work great.
- Transmission shifts great (fluid has been replaced several times).
- All electronics in the car work.
- All four windows work
- Electric driver's seat works (passenger seat is manual from factory)
Recent (last five years) work done on car:
- New radiator
- New alternator
- New distributor
- Transmission flush
- Convertible top hydraulics replaced
- New v-belt and idler pulleys
Back when I was purchasing another car in 2015 I bought Autocheck so you can find the Autocheck report for this Mustang circa 2015 here: https://document.li/kQSM
The only reason I am getting rid of the car is that I hardly drive it so it is not really worth keeping around. If you have questions or would like to see the car please contact me via Ebay.
I would have no concerns driving this car 100s of miles as it is now. I am happy to pick you up from either Richmond airport or Richmond Staples Mill Amtrak station if you want to fly/take the train here to pickup the car.
No reserve highest bidder gets it.
Car is sold as-is.
