1966 Ford F-100 FRAME OFF RESTORATION! Description

NO RESERVE ON THIS PRISTINE FRAME OFF RESTORED 1966 F100!! AUCTION ENDS TUESDAY MAY 30TH AT 7:00 PST TRUE NO RESERVE AUCTION THAT WILL RUN FULL 7 DAY TERM AND THERE IS NO BUY IT NOW!

THIS STUNNING F100 IS LIKE NEW FROM TOP TO BOTTOM WITH A FULL FRAME OFF NUT AND BOLT RESTORATION THAT WAS DONE TO A VERY HIGH QUALITY AND FAR BETTER THEN ANYTHING FORD HAD COMING OFF THE LINE IN 1966! THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER SEEN RAIN SINCE THE RESTORATION AND HAS HAD 3300 BREAK IN MILES CLICKED ON THE ODOMETER, SO ANY AND ALL BUGS THAT USUALLY COME UP AFTER A FULL RESTORATION HAVE BEEN WORKED OUT. THIS RESTORATION WAS DONE OUT OF A LABOR OF LOVE AND WOULD COST FAR MORE TO BRING A TRUCK TO THIS LEVEL THEN WHAT THE TRUCK WOULD BE WORTH. WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM THE OWNER WHO HAD THE FRAME OFF RESTORATION DONE AND HE DID IT IN MEMORY OF HIS FATHER. THIS WAS HIS DADS TRUCK AND ONCE HE PASSED IT STAYED IN THE FAMILY AND HE GAVE IT A FULL ORIGINAL STOCK RESTORATION TO THE WAY IT WAS WHEN HIS DAD BOUGHT IT NEW, EVEN FULLY RESTORED THE ORIGINAL FORD INSTALLED TOOL BOXES TO THE HIGHEST QUALITY RATHER THEN REPLACE THEM WITH NEW MODERN STYLE. HE GAVE US SOME BEFORE PICS SHOWN IN THE AD ALONG WITH SOME OF THE IN PROCESS RESTORATION PHOTOS THAT SHOWED THIS 66 F100 WAS A NICE SOLID AND NOT ABUSED ORIGINAL SURVIVOR TRUCK THAT WAS A PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION. NO EXPENSE WAS SPARED AND IT WAS A PAIN STAKING DETAILED RESTORATION THAT TOUCHED EVERY NUT AND BOLT. ALL THE BODY PANELS AND SHEET METAL IS ORIGINAL TO THE TRUCK ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE DRIVE TRAIN. THE FRAME OFF RESTORATION WAS FINALLY COMPLETE TEN YEARS AGO IN 2007, BUT LOOKS FRESHLY DONE, DUE TO THE QUALITY OF JOB DONE, THE CARE IT HAS RECEIVED SINCE COMPLETION AND THE LOW MILES CLICKED ON THE ODOMETER SINCE IT WAS FINISHED. THIS TRUCKS PAINT AND BODYIS FLAWLESS WITH NO ISSUES OR IMPERFECTIONS POPPING OUT THROUGH THE PAINT AND THE BEST PART ABOUT A RESTORATION LIKE THIS IN WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE REFER TO AS A MATURED RESTORATION IS ANY IMPERFECTIONS OR CHEMICAL REACTIONS THATMAYHAPPEN UNDER THE PAINTWOULD HAVE ALREADY SURFACED AND SHOWN THEIR UGLY HEAD. THIS OFTEN HAPPENS DUE TO THINGS OVER LOOKED OR CORNERS CUT DURING THE BODY RESTORATION AND THEY SOMETIMES TAKE 6-MONTHS TO A YEAR TO RE-SURFACE DEPENDING ON CLIMATE AND EXPOSURE TO SUN, SUCH AS ROCK CHIPS NOT PROPERLY ADDRESSED WILL SURFACE AS LITTLE DIMPLES UNDER THE PAINT, CRACKS IN PAINT DUE FROM CONDENSATION LEFT BEFORE PAINT, ALONG WITH WHAT IS CALLED FISH EYES IN THE PAINT OR LITTLE BUBBLES IN THE PAINT DUE TO POOR PREP WORK OR BAD CHEMICAL REACTIONS IN THE PRIMER, FILLER OR PAINT. THIS F100'S PAINT IS FULLY SETTLED, CURED AND IS LIKE GLASSWITH NONE OF THESE ISSUES. ONCE THE TRUCK WAS COMPLETED THE OWNER ENTERED IT IN SEVERAL SHOWS AND INCLUDED PICTURES OF THE TROPHY'S, BUT WANTED TO KEEP THEM FOR MEMORY SAKE. IT GOT FIRST PLACE AT THE 2007 BOWEN SCARF FORD AND MUSTANG SHOW FOR TRUCK CLASS, TWO TROPHY'S AT PORT GARDENER AUTO CLUB SHO, ONE FOR BEST PAINT AND ONE FOR BEST STOCK TRUCK, BEST TRUCK AT 2008 SUMMER CLASSIC SHOW AND IT GOT FIRST PLACE IN IT'S CLASS AT THE 8TH ANNUAL SEATTLE ROADSTER SHOW IN QUEST FIELD WHICH WAS PROBABLY THE BIGGEST SHOW IT WAS ENTERED.

PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE IN DEPTH DESCRIPTIONS AND SCROLL TO THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE TEXT TO SEE THE 180 LARGE DETAILED PICS. THERE IS ALSO A COMBINED 3 PART CONDITION, COLD START AND DRIVING VIDEO AT THE VERY BOTTOM JUST AFTER THE LAST PIC.

THIS F100 WAS PURCHASED NEW AT FOGLE MOTORS IN DRY EASTERN WASHINGTON ON MARCH, 12TH 1966 AND HAS BEEN IN THIS STATE IT'S ENTIRE LIFE. EASTERN WASHINGTON IS KNOWN WITH IT'S CLIMATE FOR SOME OF THE BEST PRESERVED AND RUST FREE VEHICLES AND THIS TRUCK WAS NO EXCEPTION. WE LUCKILY DO NOT USE ANY SALT ON OUR WINTER ROADS THAT HELP TO KEEP CLASSIC'S RUST FREE & ALIVE. THIS F100 AMAZINGLY STILL HAS IT'S ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, ALL DEALER BROCHURES SHOWING COLORS AND OPTIONS AND A FULLY RESTORED 5TH SPARE. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK THIS TRUCK OVER CAREFULLY AS IT TRULY IS AS NICE AND LIKE NEW AS YOU CAN GET.

BODY- AS MENTIONED ABOVE THIS TRUCK HAS UNDER GONE A COMPLETE RESTORATION TO IT'S ORIGINAL LOOK AND SPEC, BUT HAS HAD THE BODY, PANEL GAPS, TRIM AND PAINT BROUGHT TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL POSSIBLE AND FAR BEYOND WHAT THESE TRUCKS ACTUALLY CAME OFF THE LINE IN 66. THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL BODY WAS TAKEN APART WITH EVERY NUT AND BOLT REMOVED AND ALL WIRING WAS TAKEN OUT. IT WAS THENFULLY BODY FINISHED AND SPRAYEDWITH PPG PAINT IN IT'S ORIGINAL SPRINGTIME YELLOW THEN BURIED IN CLEAR COAT. THE TRUCKS BOTTOM OF CAB AND BED WERE THEN UNDER COATED. WHILE THE PAINT AND BODY PROCESS WAS UNDER WAY THE FRAME AND DRIVE-TRAIN WAS ALSO UNDER WAY IN THE RESTORATION PROCESS. THE CAB AND REST OF THE BODY WAS MARRIED BACK TO THE FRAME AND FULLY ASSEMBLED. THE BODY THEN WAS WET SANDED AND BUFFED TO PERFECTIONIN ADEEP AND SMOOTH HIGH GLOSS SPRINGTIME YELLOW FINISH THAT MAKES THIS TRUCK LOOK LIKE IT WAS JUST DIPPED INTO A CAN OF BUTTERNUT YELLOW PAINT.AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES THE ORIGINAL WHITE GRILLE AND BUMPERS WERE TREATED TO ALL THE SAME TREATMENT AS THE REST OF THE BODY.INSTEAD OF PAINTING THEM LIKE THE FACTORY DID WITH A THINNER LESS QUALITY PAINT THEN THE BODY HAD, HE HAD THEM BROUGHT DOWN TO BARE METAL, SHOT WITH THE SAME PPG PRIMER, PPG WIMBLEDON WHITE, COVERED IN CLEAR THEN WET SANDED AND BUFFED BEFORE BEING PUT BACK ON THE BODY. EVIDENCE OF THE LOVE AN CARE THIS TRUCK HAS RECEIVED EVEN THE SIDE TOOL BOXES WERE TAKEN APART, FULLY RESTORED AND PAINTED WITH THE BUMPERS AND GRILLE THEN HAD PROTECTION CARPET INDIVIDUALLY CUT ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH LITTLE COMPARTMENT INSIDE FLOOR. THE HOOD HINGES, CORE SUPPORT, INNER FENDERS, BATTERY TRAY AND ANYRELATED BRACKETS AND PIECES UNDER THE HOOD AND TRUCK WERE SANDED AND PAINTED IN PPG GLOSS BLACK FRAME PAINT THROUGH A HVLP GUN.ALL BODY MOUNTS WERE REPLACED ON ASSEMBLY ALONG WITH EVERY PIECE OF RUBBER ON THE TRUCK, ALL ORIGINAL REAR AND SIDE GLASS STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL CARLITE LOGO AND WAS GLASS RESTORED THEN WRAPPED IN NEW RUBBER BEFORE BEING INSTALLED. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED WITH A ACTUAL NEWFORD LAMINATED PIECE WITH FORD LOGO IN CENTER AND WRAPPED IN A NEW ONE PIECE RUBBER GASKET SEAL, THEMETAL ON THE DOOR FLY WINDOWS WAS RESTORED AND SHOT IN THE SAME PPG GLOSS BLACK AND ALSO RECEIVED NEW RUBBER. THE DOORS HAD THE HINGES AND LATCHES GONE THROUGH, NEW INNER AND OUTER DOOR FELTS ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM ALONG WITH NEW RUBBER WEATHER STRIPPING. ALL NEW RUBBER MOUNTING SEALS WERE PUT ON THE HOOD EMBLEM, MIRRORS, DOOR HANDLES, A PROTECTIVE RUBBER STRIP WAS PUT ON TH INSIDE EDGE OF THE BUMPER THAT FACES THE BODY AND A NEW RUBBER GAS FILLER NECK WAS INSTALLED WITH A NEW GAS CAP. THE MIRRORS WERE RESTORED ALONG WITH THE FENDER EMLBEMS, BUT THE ORIGINAL CHROME WAS POLISHED OUT ON THE HOOD EMBLEM, FORD TEXT IN GRILLE AND DOOR HANDLES. THE INNER HEADLIGHT BUCKETS WERE RESTORED IN PPG FRAME BLACK BEFORE NEW LIGHTS WERE INSTALLED, THE TURN SIGNAL AND TAILLIGHT BUCKETS WERE GONE THROUGH BEFORE NEW GASKETS SEALS AND LENSES FRONT AND BACK FROM LMC TRUCK. ALL ORIGINAL STEEL WHEELS AND HUBCAPS WERE RESTORED INCLUDING THE 5TH SPARE WERE THEN WRAPPED AROUND NEW STOCK SIZED TIRES. ONLY IMPERFECTIONS OR MARKS IS A SMALL STONE CHIP ON THE MIDDLE OF THE BUMPER, A CRACK IN CLEAR COVER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE RED TWIN I-BEAM FENDER EMBLEM, THE PAINT ON THE INSIDE FLOOR OF BED AND UNDERSIDE OF HOOD WAS NOT WET SANDED AND BUFFED LIKE THE EXTERIOR BODY FOR OBVIOUS REASONS, ON THE BOTTOM INSIDE OF THE TAILGATE WHERE IT MEETS THE BED WHEN CLOSED THERE IS SOME VIBRATION WEAR IN THE PAINT AND THE TAILGATE PULL HANDLE WAS PAINTED BODY COLOR RATHER THEN LEFT RAW LIKE THAT FACTORY DID AND THEY OVER LOOKED A TINY KNICK IN THE METAL PULL HANDLE BEFORE PAINT WAS APPLIED. THIS IS A SPECTACULAR LOOKING F100 THAT LOOKS BRAND NEW TOP TO BOTTOM WITH A LASER STRAIGHT BODY, EXCELLENT QUALITY PAINT AND GETS AS MANY THUMBS UPS AND COMPLIMENTS AS YOU CAN IMAGINE.

INTERIOR- THIS F100'S INTERIOR HAS BEEN FULLY RESTORED AND TRULY SMELLS, FEELS AND RIDES LIKE A BRAND NEW 66 F100. WHEN ACCOMPANIED WITH THE HUM OF THAT INLINE 6 MOTOR, THE SOUNDS OF THE GEARS AS YOU WIND THEM UP TRULY THROWS YOU BACK TO 1966 AND REMINDS YOU OF A SIMPLER TIME. INSIDE THIS F100 RECEIVED THE SAME ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND HIGH QUALITY RESTORATION AS THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCK GOT. ONCE THE CAB WAS ON THE FRAM, THE FOOT PEDAL'S AND BRACKETS WERE RESTORED IN PPG FRAME BLACK ALONG WITH ALL METAL BRACKETS UNDER OR BEHIND THE DASH INCLUDING THE HEAT BOX AND DUCTS. THE COMPLETE SPRINGTIME YELLOW DASH AND WIMBLEDON WHITE GAUGE BEZEL WAS RESTORED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BODY, SO IT WAS SANDED DOWN, PRIMED, SPRAYED IN BASE COAT CLEAR COAT PAINT THEN WET SANDED AND POLISHED OUT TO AN AMAZING FINISH. ONCE INSTALLED BACK IN THE TRUCK THE RESTORED GAUGES WERE PUT IN WITH NEW OIL PRESSURE AND AMP GAUGES WERE INSTALLED TO KEEP A EYE ON THE VITALS, ALL ORIGINAL CHROME AND NOBS WERE CLEANED AND POLISHED BEFORE INSTALL, NEW DEFROST VENTS AT THE TOP WERE ADDED ALONG WITH THE INNER CARDBOARD LINER TO THE GLOVE BOX. THE STEERING COLUMN, STEERING WHEEL, COLUMN MOUNT, REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SUN-VISOR MOUNTS WERE FULLY RESTORED IN A VERY HIGH GLOSS & TASTEFUL LIGHT MILK CHOCOLATE SHADE OF PAINT THAT ALMOST HAS A CLAY LOOK. A NEW ORIGINAL STYLE RUBBER FLOOR MAT WAS LAID DOWN WITH NEW ALUMINUM HOLD DOWN TRIM PIECES AT BOTH SIDES, NEW TRANSMISSION SHIFT BOOT AND RESTORED HOLD DOWN PLATE. THE GAS TANK WAS PAINTED THE SAME TIME AS THE CAB AND HAD A NEW FUEL SENDING UNITS AND ALL NEW METAL LINES FORMED. THE ORIGINAL BENCH SEAT WAS FULLY RESTORED IN BLACK ALONG WITH THE SUN-VISORS DONE TO MATCH. THE DOORS HAD THE WINDOW REGULATORS AND LATCHES GONE THROUGH, SO BOTH SIDES ROLL UP AND DOWN WITH EASE. THE WING WINDOWS GOT ALL NEW RUBBE, THE METAL FRAMES RESTORED AND ARE VERY TIGHT WITH PROPER OPERATING LOCKS. BOTH DOOR LOCK'S OPERATE SMOOTHLY AND THE DOORS POP RIGHT OPEN FROM THE INNER AND OUTER DOOR HANDLE. BOTH DOORS HAVE THAT AWESOME SOLID VAULT LIKE SOUND WHEN SHUT AND GIVE THAT NICE HIGH PITCH TING WHEN OPENED. THE INNER DOOR HANDLES, WINDOW CRANKS AND ALL CHROME AND KNOBS ARE ORIGINAL TO THE TRUCK, BUT HAVE BEEN CLEANED AND POLISHED UP. EVERYTHING ON THIS TRUCK WORKS AS IT SHOULD INCLUDING THE HEATER, WIPERS, GAUGES AND ALL LIGHTS. ON A STOCK RESTORATION THIS 66 COULD NOT HAVE A NICER OR BETTER QUALITY DONE INTERIOR!
MECHANICAL / UNDER CARRIAGE - JUST LIKE THE BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR ON THIS F100 THE DRIVE-TRAIN AND UNDERCARRIAGE ON THIS TRUCK FEEL, SOUND, OPERATE, SMELL AND LOOK LKE A NEW 66 F100. AS MENTIONED ABOVE WHEN THE BODY WAS BEING RESTORED THE RESTORATION ON THE FRAME AND MECHANICAL'S WAS ALSO UNDER WAY. THE FRAME, CROSS MEMBERS, REAR SPRINGS, FRONT I-BEAM SUSPENSION PIECES, DRIVE-LINE,INNER FENDERS, CORE SUPPORT, HOOD LATCHES, HOOD SPRINGS AND ALL METAL MOUNTING BRACKETS UNDER THE HOOD WERE SANDED DOWN AND PAINTED IN PPG GLOSS BLACK FRAME PAINT. THE FRONT-END WAS ALL PUT BACK TOGETHER WILL ALL NEW TIE RODS, BALL JOINTS,, BUSHINGS AND THE ORIGINAL STEERING BOX WAS GONE THROUGH. NEW BRAKES WERE DONE AT ALL FOUR CORNERS AND NEW SHOCKS WITH OVER LOAD AIR SHOCKS IN THE REAR. ONCE IT WAS A ROLLING CHASSIS THE MOTOR AND TRANS WAS INSTALLED WITH NEW MOUNTS AND THE RESTORED DRIVE-LINE RECEIVED NEW U-JOINTS. THE FACTORY TRANSMISSION WAS GONE THROUGH, RE-SEALED, PAINTED AND A NEW CLUTCH WAS INSTALLED WHEN IT WAS BOLTED TO THE MOTOR. THE ORIGINAL 240 INLINE 6 CYLINDER WAS RESTORED TO LIKE THE DAY IT LEFT THE ASSEMBLY LINE. PAINTED IN THE CORRECT ERA FORD ENGINE BLUE AND EVERY ITEM THAT BOLTS TO THE MOTOR WAS RESTORED OR REPLACED. THE PULLEYS WERE SANDED AND PAINTED, NEW ALTERNATOR, NEW STARTER, NEW BELTS,THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH NEW FORMED METAL FUEL LINES, THE ORIGINAL 1BBL MOTORCRAFT CARBURETOR WAS REBUILT AND THE ORIGINAL AIR CLEANER WAS RESTORED WITH FRESH PAINT AND FACTORY DECAL.THE EXHAUST AND INTAKE MANIFOLD'S WERE SANDBLASTED, RESURFACED AND CHECKED OF ANY CRACKS BEFORE BEING INSTALLED WITH FRESH GASKETS AND GREY PAINT. UNDER THE HOOD INSTALLED WERE ALL NEW BATTERY CABLES, STARTER SOLENOID, NEW BATTERY HOLD DOWN, NEW BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND SWITCH. THE ORIGINAL DISTRIBUTOR HAD NEW POINTS PUT IN ALONG WITH CAP, ROTOR AND WIRES TO THE NEW PLUGS. ALL THE RADIATOR AND HEATER HOSES WERE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE CLAMPS AND HEATER CORE. THE WINDSHIELD WASHER SYSTEM WAS GONE THROUGH WITH ALL NEW RUBBER HOSES, NEW CHROME HOOD NOZZLES, NEW WASHER PUMP AND THE WASHER FLUID BAG IS ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL THAT WAS JUST CLEANED UP AND SHOWS WHAT A CLEAN AND ORIGINAL TRUCK THIS WAS BEFORE RESTORATION. SINCE THE RESTORATION THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER SEEN ANYTHING, BUT SUNNY DAYS AND HAS CLICKED ON JUST OVER 3300 MILES. UNDER THE HOOD AND ALONG THE UNDERSIDE IS IN AMAZING AND CLEAN CONDITION THANKS TO NEVER SEEING RAIN AND THE THE MOTOR HAS JUST MINOR DIRT THAT WOULD CLEAN RIGHT OFF FROM DRIVEN. THIS F100 HAS A PERFECTLY ADJUSTED CARB AND TIMING, SO COLD OR WARM IT FIRES RIGHT UP TO A QUIET AND SMOOTH IDLE. THIS TRUCK IS A TRUE DRIVERS TRUCK WITH NO ISSUES AND WON'T PUT SWEAT DROPS ON YOUR FOREHEAD IF YOU GET STUCK IN TRAFFIC LIKE ALOT OF OLDER VEHICLES TEND TO. I WOULD TRUST THIS TRUCK ON ANY NICE COUNTRY BACK ROAD DRIVE WITH NO CELL SERVICE TO THOSE TOUGH DAILY COMMUTES. IF THIS F100 HAS BEEN SITTING THE CHOKE ONLY NEEDS TO BE PULLED A THIRD OF THE WAY OUT AND WITH NOT A TOUCH TO THE GAS PEDAL IT FIRES RIGHT UP ON FIRST CRANK. ALL THE PEDALS FEEL EXACTLY LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT AND HOPE THEY WOULD WITH A NICE TIGHT AND SMOOTH OPERATION. THE ENGINE IS VERY RESPONSIVE WITH A CRISP THROTTLE THAT DOES NOT FALL ON IT'S FACE, STUMBLE OR LOAD UP IN TRAFFIC. THE BRAKES STOP SMOOTH, STRAIGHT AND HAVE ALL BEEN ADJUSTED PROPERLY, SO THERE IS NO PULLING OR FADING PEDAL. THE CLUTCH OPERATES AD FEELS EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD WITH A NICE AND TIGHT PEDAL THAT GRABS AND DISENGAGES RIGHT WERE IT SHOULD. THE TRANS SHIFTS SMOOTHLY THROUGH AL GEARS ON A UP OR DOWN SHIFT AND HAS A TIGHT SHIFT PATTERN. ALL GAUGES AND LIGHTS WORK PROPERLY, THE FLUIDS ARE FRESH AND THE TIRES ARE LIKE NEW. THIS A TRUE NEEDS NOTHING CLASSIC THAT IS READY TO BE DRIVEN.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO TRULY LOOK AT ALL THE PICS AND VIDEOS TO TRULY APPRECIATE THE RESTORATION QUALITY, THE TIM, MONEY AND LOVE THAT WAS SPENT AND JUST THE AMAZING CONDITION OF THIS TRUCK!! THIS 66 CLASSIC TRULY IS ONE OF THE NICEST AROUND AND WE ONLY HOPE IT WILL SEE ANOTHER WELL LOVED AND CARING SECOND FAMILY!! GOOD LUCK AND THIS WILL GO TO HIGHIEST BID!!!!

The older the car, the harder it is to define the condition of the vehicle. Most of our vehicles are specialty vehicles or are 15+ years old, and usually trucks. Because of this, it is very difficult to describe each vehicle to everyone’s satisfaction. Based on the bidder'spersonal experience, some bidders will be overly pleased with my description and pictures, and others may feel that I fell short. I postthese auctions based on how I want to see auctions when I’m buying, keeping in mind what I look for, and I try to put your eye's to what I can see and touch. Please help me by asking all questions and letting me know if other pictures are wanted. If you do not see a pic or description of a item or a area on the truck please do not assume anything and ask me about the specifics your a needing or for more pics and i will post every question asked by members so all potential bidders can see. Every car is available for inspection and i personally drive each vehicle before listing it and If anything does not work properly I will let you know. Of course I amonly human and these are mechanical creatures and these are usedvehicles, so please keep this in mind when bidding
