2004 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer 4X4 Diesel Low Miles New Engine w/ Ford Warranty
2004 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer Description
This listing is for an exceptional 2004 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer with 4-wheel drive and a dealer-installed replacement 6.0 Powerstroke diesel engine at the end of 2016.
I purchased this vehicle for top $$ almost 3 years ago from a dealer who took it in on trade from the original owner. The Excursion had 39K miles when I purchased it and it was all original and perfect. I have driven it almost 50K miles and it has been an exceptional vehicle for me as well. All service and maintenance have been performed at Prestige Ford here in Dallas since I have owned it and I have every service record since I bought it.
When I purchased it, the vehicle had a clean CarFax. Unfortunately, within the first month of my ownership one of the original tires failed (over 10 yrs old) and damaged the bottom of the right front fender and gold trim. I had the fender and trim replaced and refinished to the standard of the rest of the factory paint job. I'm not sure if this is on the current report, but to my knowledge, this is the only non-factory paint on it.
I bought five Michelin 70K-mile 285-series, slightly larger than the stock 265-series tires at around 40K miles and they still have life in them but have some wear (see picture). These tires also make the speedo and odometer reflect the actual speed and mileage of the truck as compared to the original tires.
Everything works with the exception of an intermittent operation of one of the large rear quarter windows that are powered to open about 3 inches for additional ventilation. Sometimes it works works and other times it won't pop out.
This Excursion drives flawlessly. Engine, transmission, rear end and 4WD are perfect. I had a Ford bumper-to-bumper extended warranty from the time I owned it until about 75K miles, so any little thing that needed repairing was taken care of immediately, as well as regular maintenance.
And then the "thing" happened after that warranty expired. Last year, one of the fuel injectors either failed or stuck open and washed down the cylinder and damaged the block. Rather than attempt a repair I had Prestige Ford install a complete replacement engine which cost a little over $16,000. To get detail on everything this encompasses, you can go to Ford's website for a complete description. Off the top of my head it is a long-block assembly, plus injectors, glow plugs, HPOP, etc. Each replacement engine comes with a 2-year, unlimited mileage warranty that according to the Ford Service website, is transferable as long as you have the service receipt, which is included (see picture). The warranty is in effect until 12/22/2018.
I tried to include enough pics to give a good idea of the overall condition. Some normal wear and tear, but way above average. This is a unique opportunity to own a unique vehicle. If you'd like some specific pictures, please let me know.
A $1,000 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction and the balance within 3 days.
