1931 Ford Model A Roadster Hot Rod
1931 Ford Model A Roadster Description
1931 Ford Model A Roadster
One off custom quality build. We started out with a Brookville Roadster body and hand built everything from the ground up including pinched newly stamped Duece rails. Everything was made to look like this has been on the road for years however every nut and bolt is brand new. If you wanted to make this a shiny "show Car" it would be no problem with just paint and powder coat (the rear differential and rear suspension are already powder coated in satin black). Since the body was new there will be very little body work to do before paint. A perfect time to make it your favorite custom look instead of paying for someone elses paint job that you want to change anyway.
The car fires right up and drives perfectly. It is equipped with a mildly built SBC 350 (about 300 "break-in" miles on complete new rebuilt motor). The engine was properly broken in with Brad Penn lubricants. The tri-power set up is built with all brand new Rochester 3G carbs with Jiffy-Tite quick connect fitting and braided fuel lines. The transmission lines are also equipped with the Jiffy-Tite quick connect fitting with steel braided lines to the aluminum finned transmission cooler. The car runs perfectly cool with the new aluminum radiator and new Spal electric fan.The engine is backed up buy a very stout freshley built 700R4 with Lokar shifter able to withstand much more horsepower should you want to upgrade. A cool shift knob of the Death Star was added to the shifter. An extra beafy custom 3" driveshaft for extra strength. Ford 9" 4-link with coil over shocks rear-end with a brand new Mosier axles and brand new 3:55 gear Trac-loc posi unit. The drivetrain is bullet proof. Brand new 11" Drum brake kit also finishes up the back half of the car. The front brakes are the Highly sought after Buick finned front drums with all brand new internal hardware. All of this finished with original 5 on 5.5" Ford Steel wheels which were powder coated gloss white and wrapped with new bias ply tires for an old school look. The front tires are Firestone motorcycle tires just like they would do back in the day. There are so many custom fabricated touches on this car that there will not be another one like it on any cruise or car show. Many pain staking hours spent making this a one of a kind hot rod. Some of the trick stuff include frenched in flip up gas cap (Crafty-B), Custom louvered rear rumble deck lid and louvered aluminum hood. The firewall was cut up and recessed using 2" round tubing cut in fouths and shaped for sort of a "cathedral looking" pocket for the distributor to fit in. Custom fabricated 19 gallon aluminum gas tank, front forged aluminum Super Bell 4" drop axle, 47 Ford Wishbones, custom hand tooled aluminum friction shocks, custom "Cobra" style 4 point roll bar that the four point DJ Safety racing harnesses attach to. The headlight mounts are actually made from real Model A Fender mount braces that have been cut and heat bent into shape to mount the Stainless Steel Guide Headlights. Custom Stainless Steel motor mounts by Shadow Rods were also added to the custom touches. Limeworks stainless steel steering wheel mounted to the steering column which connects to the stainless steel steering shafts that are very tight and responsive. Custom chopped Model A windshield with brand new glass that was cut to match the curvature of the cowl. New rubber cowl seal. The very rare rear license plate holder was re-wired and nice bright LED bulb was inserted. Custom Battery mount frenched in to the rear floor to accomidate the smaller anti-gravity battery to save room in the trunk. Still has room for a couple of day bags. The custom Louvers on the hand built aluminum hood and rear deck lid were made to have a lined up pattern when viewed from above. Brand new custom gauges by Classic Instruments with all brand new wiring (there are a couple extra circuits should you want to add something later). Hand fabricated "extra dash" for the Holley electric fuel pump and starter switch, key hole and warning light. Everything lights up and works as it should. The custom bomber style seats were hand built by the famous Jamie Jordan out of aircraft grade aluminum. For an added nice touch, we added hand stitched genuine leather (stunning looking brown with copper highlights) cushions that are super comfortable. Clean Title and titled as a 1931 Model A Roadster (special construction). Everything on this car was built right by some very talented people. You will not be disappointed. All receipts and photos documenting the builds progress will be included. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask a question.
