2001 Ford F250 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel - Crew Cab Short Bed
2001 Ford F-250 Lariat Description
2001 F250 Super Duty. Top of the line Lariat package. 4-full door crew cab and short bed. I'm the 2nd owner and bought it in 2008 out of Dallas Texas. Since then, the truck has been in Southern California. 100% rust free. Meticulously maintained. Original engine and transmission. Oil changed every 5,000 miles.
There are several upgrades to improve the performance of the 7.3. -Equipped with an Edge Evolution CTS tuner with backup camera ($700)-Garrett full ball-bearing turbo ($1500)-Banks full 4" exhaust system with Power Elbow ($800)-Banks Ram Air intake (369)-FASS Titanium 95 GPH fuel system ($600)*This truck runs strong! I'd estimate 125-150 HP over stock.
Mechanically the truck is flawless. With the performance upgrades, it performs way better than new. I'd drive it from California to New York right now if need be.
Most every mechanical part has already been replaced.-Fuel Injectors $1700-High Pressure Oil Pump $400-Driveshaft (from the Ford dealer) $900-Air Conditioning Compressor-Starter, Alternator, Water Pump, Belt & Tensioner, the usual stuff-Radiator-Front 4x4 Hubs-Front suspension was rebuilt with all new premium Moog ball joints-Newer batteries-Steering box
Suspension: Pro-Comp leveling lift. Consists of new front leaf springs which lifted it about 2.5". Bilstein shocks all the way around. Premium alloy wheels with BFG All Terrain 285/75 R16. Load range E.
Interior: Seats 6 people. Tan leather. The front seats are upgraded to 2002-04 40/20/40 bench. Front seats are power on both the driver and passenger sides. Rear seats are 2005-newer style. See pictures, the top folds down and the bottom folds up. A steel platform folds out. Way better than the original seats which were a fixed bench.
Exterior: Upgraded to 2002-04 style headlights (factory style with clear corners). There's minor scrapes & scratches.
All in all, it's a good truck with 263k+ miles which might scare some people, but as many people know these 7.3's have been known to go 900k+ miles on the original motor. I can say it's in way better shape now than it was when I bought it in '08 with 157k miles.
The only current problems I know of is the in dash CD changer quit working. It's already been replaced once, and most of the used ones out there are just as old, so I'm leaving it up to the buyer if they want to go aftermarket. The oil pan gasket also has a very minor leak out the front.
