PPG contracted McLaren Performance Technologies in Detroit developed this truck for the CART Indy Car World Series 1991 through 1994 seasons. The rear facing seats provided winning contestants the view of a lifetime! Pacing the field of up to 33 900HP Indy Cars close behind! Imagine the number of World Famous Race Courses that this truck has driven on!

The original cost to built this one of a kind truck was a reported $250,000!This F150 has many of the Ford Lightning features.Big horsepower built by Roush via 5.0L V8 with an estimated 500HP! Remember, This was 1991! That was huge!Performance prepped Automatic Transmission.Water cooled 4 wheel disc brakes. Similar to how they cool the brakes in the Trans Am Series,Endurance Races like 24 hrs of Daytona.18 inch AZE Wheels. In 1991, 18 inch wheels were a big deal! The Continental Tires are Brand new. It had the original tires from 1994 on it. Too old to be safe! The roll bar is integrated under theupholstery in the cab and inside the rear body hoop. The work that was performed to mold the bed into the cab, the creation of the rear doors and steps, plus all of the other custom, one of a kind body features areUNBELIEVABLE!Theintegratedstrobe lights and the one of a kind light bar really draw attention. There is even an on board fire system.
We have helped make the truck more user friendly by installing a power flip down rear license plate holder. We also added power side windows, a one of a kind rear tonneau cover. And then new tires and new dual batteries. No damage orpermanent holes were put in the truck to make theseimprovements! They can all be removed with no scars!
This is one trick truck!
It runs down the highway very nice. It really loves to be driven like a race car! It corners really well! Sounds super! Stops on a dime!
We noticed NASCAR style "truck arms" holding the reardifferentialin place along with custom leaf springs and shocks. The truck even has large "rings" welded to each frame corner for when they tired it down for moving track to track.
We have been asked questions regarding theeligibility of this truck being used as a Pro-Touring Car, Auto Cross, and Track Touring use. There are so manyorganizations, varying rules and classes that we suggest that you contact the group that you with to run with.
The white/magenta/purple paintwork was from 1991 & 1992.
The current paintwork was used in 1993 & 1994.
