1969 Ford Mustang MACH 1 Description

By Owner! I have what I think is the REAL DEAL!
Description: 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (from the factory it was a Mach 1 with a 351, 290 HP). The car has an incredible 427 SOHC "Cammer" engine, believed to be real 1960's era.
I purchased this car along with 8 other very nice cars from a private estate collection in Alabama. The late owner passed away 5 or 6 years ago. He was a well known flathead ford engine guy.
The car was stored in his farm barn along with the other 7 cars I purchased from the estate. I am not a Mustang guy but do know how rare the drive train is. Someone who is a serious collector should have this car for their collection.
What I know and don't know....
I tracked down the builder who told me he built the car for the late owner over 20 years ago. He says he did a body off, rotisserie restoration on the car back then. It is completely rust and damage free even today. According to him, the late owner purchased what he believed to be an original 1960's Cammer engine from someone in the midwest. He paid $30,000 for the engine 20 or 25 years ago. The car was then professionally built around the engine. It has a Mustang II type front end with tubular control arms, believed to be a Heidts set up, the shock towers were professionally removed to allow room for the massive engine and the firewalls were replaced with shock tower delete ones. The frame is original but has had steel tubes welded onto them, front to rear to beef up the frame so it does not twist in to on launch. The car shows very well and the paint and body are still outstanding. Keep in mind it was built over 20 years ago so it may have a slight ping or paint chip! We simply pulled it out of the garage and buffed it out. The paint looks excellent! The underneath is clean and rust free. It is obvious that the car has not been driven much since its restoration. With a few pats of the accelerator pedal, it cranks right up. The sound of a Cammer engine is incredible. You might want to tune it up and set the timing since it has been sitting for sol long. These engines are extremely rare! One recently sold on ebay for $59,950 and that was not running. Mine is running and in the car. I have been encouraged by several collectors to remove the engine and sell it by itself. If the car does not meet its reserve, we will offer the engine alone. I am hoping a serious collector will want the package since this car was built around it.
I have videos of a walk around and a video of the engine running. Please email me and I can forward those links to you~
The builder told me that the car was featured on the cover of Mustangs & Fords magazine many years ago. Perhaps someone can research that and get a copy. This car is not perfect so don't expect one. I am very picky and you might find it just right. It is a serious car! I would be happy to show this car in person to any serious bidder. We will not be going for a joy ride! I have it well insured by Grundy International but will not drive it because of the value of the engine. On another note or two.... We found the car without wheels and tires up on blocks. I think the late owner was going to make a wheel/tire swap. I installed this set of very unattractive modern Cobra wheels and tires on it to move it out of the barn. I just bought a brand new set of 18" American Racing Elennor type wheels that go with it to the new buyer. They will look amazing on the car.
I am selling it without warranty or guarantee! Please make an appointment to come look at it to judge authenticity and condition for yourself.
TITLES: The State of Alabama did not title vehicles build before 1976. You will not get a title! In Alabama and most southern states, the law requires that he car be registered and tagged. I have a current 2017 registration and tag that goes with the car.
Please feel free to call or email me with questions. I am posting a Buy it Now Price because I know many will email me asking about a buy it now or reserve. I won't give out my reserve number but it is slightly lower than my buy it now. If it does not sell, I will re post the engine and sell it.
The car is outstanding and has incredible curb appeal. Once you open the hood it becomes Incredible!
Thanks for looking and good luck. I would keep it myself but I'm just not a Mustang Guy! Also, I will be posting a couple other cars from this same collection/find including an amazing 1951 Mercury Custom that the owner had just finished when he passed away and a beautiful 1950 Ford F1 pickup with an amazing Ardun Flathead engine.

I have had several idiots text, call and email me who had absolutely no idea what a 427 SOHC is! I have removed the buy it now price and will instead just let this auction run until the end. I have a ton of interest from buyers wanting to buy the engine alone. If the reserve is not met, we may offer the engine alone. If you would like to view a video of the car, email or text me and I can send you the link. Ebay will not allow me to post a link.
