For sale is my 1996 Mustang GT. I'm going to be 100% honest in describing it, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer them promptly.
I bought the car from the original owner in February of 2003. It had about 20k miles on it when I bought it. The original owner lived close to his work, and only drove it very sparingly. I can't say the same for me. This car was my daily driver for over 10 years. It treated me well and I kept it maintained. I stopped driving it about 2 years ago, and honestly, it has been pretty neglected since then. It was running when I stopped driving it, but since then the battery has died and I'm sure it will need a couple of other things right away.
The 4.6L V8 GT engine and auto transmission are strong. The only problem I've ever had is a slight shudder with the transmission, which is common for Ford automatics. It doesn't affect the performance or ability to drive the car. The car is mostly stock, except for a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, and 18x9 black aluminum "Bullitt" style wheels all the way around. The two rear tires are brand new, with less than 1k miles on them. The two front tires will need to be replaced soon. The battery will need to be replaced as well.
The exterior of the car is painted bright "Rio Red" (E8) which was a rarer color than the more subdued "Laser Red" of that era. There are a couple of exterior blemishes which are documented in the photos. The hood has a small chip from someone backing into the car while it was parked, and the right rear quarter window was broken recently while I was not home.
The car is being sold AS-IS, and therefore it is the buyer's responsibility to arrange for it to be towed away. I have taken this into consideration and set the starting price very low. With a little bit of love this Mustang can be running again, and still has a strong drivetrain and very low mileage given the year.
It's located in Quincy, MA, 02169.
