1955 Ford Thunderbird Description

This vehicle was purchased in 1956 from a gentleman in Birmingham, Alabama. He retired in 1988 and decided to sell the car and move to Florida. He listed the carin the classifieds in a local newspaper.Another gentleman from North Alabama purchased the car afterseeing the newspaper article. He passed away last year afterowning the car for over thirty years. This car was his passion and he loved it dearly. It was driven in local parades and events. In over thirtyyears it was not driven over three thousand miles. The family decided to let the car go after his passing. I have the newspaper and all documents that he kept.

This car is very original! I have an appraisal that was done in 2005 and exactcomments stated were "original low miles, wonderful originality, very solid body, attractive color and runs and drives good."

The top was replaced some years ago.It was kept folded back and was not extended very muchas you can tell by the tightness. The weather seals have been replaced. The top is not perfect but it's the original frame. It was kept in a garage, covered and always had a fan blowing on it.Originally, ithad a six volt electrical system and has been converted to a 12 volt.Italso has been adapted to take a spin on oil filter, instead of the canister style. Also added was a new radiator that was purchased from Prestige Thunderbird in California. The paint is not perfect, but still not too bad. Exhaust headers were installed sometime....exhaust sounds great! Out of 16,155 T-birds first produced this was number 3134. The T-Birdruns and drives great! A real beauty!

I decided to relist due to failed transactions. I have the vehicle for sale locally. Not interested in trades unless tractors or heavy equipment. Thanks.
