1972 Ford Galaxie 500
Up for sale is a very original Galaxie 500 with a healthy 400 engine. The only things that are not original in this car are the carburetor and distributor. This is a 400 2V style engine, but I got a four barrel intake manifold and a holley 600 vac on it. I took off the point distributor and installed a new electronic distributor and ignition coil.
The previous owner did the seats recovered with original fabric. As far as I know everything else is original. The clock shows 47K miles and it seems to be original, but I can't tell for sure. The car drives good and strong, very reliable and starts easily even cold or hot. The AC is blowing cold air.
I have a lot of high resolution images thatI can send through email.
Exterior: The paint has some flaws, I believe it had been sprayed sometime in the past. There are signs of rust under the vinyl, the fenders are ok. Bumpers shows some rust, but still looks beautiful enough for it's age.
Interior: Excellent interior condition. Dashboard has absolutely no cracks or discoloration. Door panels are excellent, the headliner is excellent. The back of bench seat needs some minor repair, (see picture).
Undercarriage: Unmolested with signs of superficial rust all over.
Engine and transmission: Runs strong and shifts smooth like it should.
Suspension: Excellent, no noises.
I have US 8,230.19 in documented maintenance in the car for the past 18 months, than includes all new brake system, new disk brakes, new bake calipers, new drums, new shoes, new brake pads, new master cylinder and new break lines. New exhaust, new white wall tires, new fuel pump, new gas tank, new fuel sender, new carb, new intake manifold, new distributor, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, new ignition coil, new power steering pump, new hoses, etc, etc.
I tried to be as clear as could, feel free to ask any questions regarding the car.
