1993 Ford Mustang LX Description

1993 Ford Mustang LX Foxbody Hatchback
This car grabs attention everywhere it goes. It has a wide array of tasteful upgrades that help bring the car into the 21st century without sacrificing that old-school look and feel. I have been using this car as my daily driver for 7 months now and need to sell it as my commute has grown too far for me to want to put that many miles on the car. I have put way too much money into making this the perfect street car. Florida title in hand. 0 accidents.
First and foremost, the air conditioning blows very cold. I have not recharged the A/C ever. It has no leaks. I recently replaced a few vacuum lines and it works perfectly. I am VERY proud of this.... There are not many fox's with perfectly working A/C nowadays.
Secondly, the ashtray still works great! This should be an indication of how well this car has been taken care of. If you know anything about these cars, it always loved to break from new. Now onto the real upgrades and new parts.
Brakes & Spindle-5 Lug conversionCobra 11.5 in. rear disk brake conversion.11.5 in. front disk brakes from 94 GT.Brand new rebuilt & powder coated calipers.Brand new slotted and drilled rotors.Adjustable Ford Racing proportioning valve (Needed to balance out big brake upgrade)
SuspensionBrand new maximum motorsports road and track package + coilovers. This kit was engineered as a package and is the best on the market:Bilstein coilovers on all 4 wheelsSubframe connectorsNew polyurethane bushings everywhere except upper control arms.MM retractable solid steering shaft. (eliminates rubber joint. 0 play in steering)MM 4 point K-member braceMM rear control armsMM caster/camber platesMM Strut tower braceBrand new quick ratio steering rack (GT optional upgrade rack)Brand new power steering pumpBrand new power steering send & return linesRear struts for wheel hop have been removed. There is no need for them with this suspension package. Car has no wheel hop without them
Tires:Less than 3000 miles on BF Goodrich summer tires (Sticky, 20,000 mile rated life)
Engine:Mild cam, enough to give it that classic rumbleFender mounted cone filterNew distributor capTiming advanced a little (unsure exact degree, but car runs best & does not knock on 93 octane gas)Shorty headersNew starter switch solenoidNew motor mountsNew waterpump & gasketsEGR Delete*the rest is stock* Feels and sounds fantastic. I have compression numbers upon request.
Exhaust:Full pre-1999 Flowmaster Cat-backsOffroad H-pipe
Drivertrain:373 rear end gearsFactory LSD, still works great as far as I can tellT5 transmissionUnknown clutch but its light and doesn't slip
Exterior:Repainted recently. Paint is a 7/10. A few runs and VERY minor cracking in places. I don't think the last owner paid enough for the prep work. Regardless, car looks incredible. A good wet sanding would take it to 9/10New quarter windows (try finding these cheap)New door moldingRefinished side mirrorsFresh seals all round. 0 leaks (including sunroof)No holes drilled for front license plateREAL SVT Cobra wheels. Could use a refinishing to be perfect but they still look fine.
Interior:New steering wheel plastic collarNew door side pouches (these are always stretched and rotted)New window motorsNew window plastic guidesNew door lock actuatorsNew door lock switchesReplaced clockspring with correct 1993 clock spring (VERY hard to find, last owner put in 1992 & it didnt work)New door armrestsNew rear speakersNew door speakersNew lower shift bootNew upper shift bootNew shift bezelBrand new driver airbagNew hatch struts
OK this is great and all. Whats wrong with the car?I prefer to be honest about this -- If you hope to buy a perfect foxbody with no "quirks" you are out of luck. They are 24+ year old cars and take some love. Luckily, I have fixed everything critical!
No horn in fenderwell. Why? I have no idea. Bought car without them and they were low on priority to get put back in. The connector is there and waiting for new ones to be installed. The horn solenoid clicks as it should when you press the buttons on the steering wheel (clockspring works). I imagine someone put in their own custom horn or something strange.
Cruise control doesn't work. I have narrowed it down to the control module in the driver fenderwell. All vacuum lines and wiring seem to be fine. Just waiting for the right one to pop up on ebay to buy.
VERY slow leak from front main seal. 1 drop a day if you are unlucky. Wish the last owner replaced this when he refreshed the motor & seals!
Heater core is not hooked up. Car has been in Florida and Texas so I have never needed it.
Small rust hole in passenger door jamb near the button that cuts on the light when door is opened. I have been all under and around this car and this is the ONLY spot of rust on the entire car. Why this spot? Well I have no idea. Regardless, it does not affect the integrity of the car and has never been noticed by anyone but me before. A bodyshop could fix it pretty cheap.
MM panhard bar is not installed yet. Since the exhaust is pre-1999 flowmaster, it does not follow stock path & any panhard bar is designed to stock exhaust pathing. Since coilovers changed height of car and there is no panhard bar installed yet, the tires will slightly rub the exhaust when cornering hard. Not a big deal. I can supply MM panhard bar. Adjusting coilovers to raise the car a little will fix this problem as well. It doesn't rub often enough for me to mind.
All in all, this is one of the finest and honest Fox's for sale right now. It is a pleasure to drive and I would keep it if I had a two car garage. LateModelRestoration has made a killing off me, but I don't regret it a bit. Just doing my part to keep these alive and on the road! Please contact me if you have any additional questions
