Limited Edition to say the least now add in the factor of the mileage. I would have to say this is the lowest mileage Bullitt around. Highland Green just like the movie car of course
I bought this car directly from the Ford dealer in Ohio new back in 2001. I saw the right up and I remembered the movie and decided that this was my car to collect, save forever and have till the day I pass. Well luckily I'm healthy and all is well but things have changed and I decided that I would convince my family to move to warmer climate and retire.
The retirement plan included moving everything I have collected over the past 40 years and let me tell you I have collected everything from Piggy Banks to Hess Trucks. As luck would have it my parents decided to downsize due to their age and move into a house more manageable so I volunteered to help. WOW what a large burden it is to the family to take your parents in their senior years and move them into a smaller house and when I say smaller I mean half the size a third of the storage space and no place for anything they want to keep.
This made me think, do I want to do the same to my family...heck no I decided and now it all has to go. I'm moving and the car is my prize possession but I have absolutely no place to store it and I will not leave it outside for even 1 day
I bought this new in 2001Had it shipped to NY enclosed trailerOnly drove it to my 20 yr. class reunion near my storage building and then parked it. The 50 miles was from a dealer to dealer trade because I wanted the lowest number and would only accept a green car
I add 1 gallon of Premium Fuel every year and run it till it is down and then another fresh gallon with fuel stabilizer keeps it through the winter
Stored indoors in a 60 x 40 building I built just to store my cars with heated floors, climate controlled, covered with new blankets every other year and parked on our last year model area rug from my living room.
The car has never been registered, was only driven on cardboard tag to storage and the reunion.
I purchased posters, large dealership banner, coffee mugs, die-cast cars of the Charger and Mustang both 1968 and 2001 items, Steve McQueen photos and many movie items from the original movie "Bullitt" I have the screen play, sound track and a couple of model cars as well. The trunk is covered with all of this collection and goes with the car. I have a Press Release Kit someplace too but have not run across it as of yet so no promises other than I will send it if I find it. I do have some items I won at auction for a charity event in California from Chad McQueen (Steve's son) and those items will go too.
I have all paper work since day 1 from Bill of Sale to Window Sticker. The original plastic is still on floors and seats and the original mats are still in the trunk under the collectibles. I have every mailing from Ford from financing to TSB Bulletins and Recall items. The car has never been out of this building since that day in 2001 when I parked it there.
This car is nearly flawless. I only drove it 3 miles and I did not drive it over 40-mph. The car is 99.9% original (had to buy a battery this week because the original (still have it) just stopped charging) I went to Ford for the replacement to keep it ALL FORD.
If you are a collector and like me then you want the best you can get for your money then this is the best your going to get. Titled only... back in 2001, never registered, never damaged, stored inside dry and heated and everything from spare keys to collectibles go with this Bullitt.
I'm asking a modest price for a premium car. This is never going to be seen again with this low mileage so be the first to make me an offer and make us both happy. You won't regret it if your a true McQueen or Mustang enthusiast.
I will be taking it to Mecum-Harrisburg if it does not sell here on ebay.
