2005 Ford Escape Hybrid SUV - great gas mileage! Very Clean! Description
Greetings,
You can see my BUY IT NOW price is considerably lower than what I'm seeing on Ebay for a comparable Ford Escape Hybrid! I'm a private seller with clear title on hand ready to send to you! And my listing also allows you to bid in an auction against others. But frankly, I see it ending by someone using the Buy It Now option - it's that good a price! So why not you?
For sale is our 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid. It's been a very dependable everyday SUV for us! Please check out the pictures closely because they tell a much better story of its condition than what I can explain here. Excellent condition inside and out for its age!
Overall, it's quite sound both mechanically, body and interior! Sure, it's 12 years old now, so it isn't perfect or meant to be a museum piece. It's sold as is, but it's ready to become your dependable and comfortable car!
The original red metallic paint still looking good and the leather seats are that good - check out the high-resolution pictures! Air Condition is truly "ice cold", so cold we have to turn it down after just a few minutes when starting the car on a 90F+, high-humidity Houston summer day (good job, FORD)!
The Escape continues to be current Texas registered and safety/emissions inspected. We are still using it on a daily basis, so the mileage may be somewhat higher by the time the auction/listing ends.
The hybrid gasoline-electric system has worked like a charm! The large main battery works just as it should. The 12V starter battery is still under a warranty, in fact. In spite of all the good qualities of our Escape, it is 12 years old now and has a few items that may need attention in the months to come I think. About the only items to point out would be the tires passed inspection, but will probably need attention for wear and rougher ride by next year depending on your usage. The driver side door vinyl panel trim/cover (not sure what else to call it) came loose (see pictures). It wouldn't stay on after trying to glue it back, so I left it off for now and will pack it in the glovebox. I guess I wasn't using the right type of glue. But frankly, the finish of that panel looks quite nice without that outer trim/cover. I just noticed the rear left door vinyl panel trim/cover is starting to be somewhat loose, too. If we were keeping the Escape, I gave thought to taking off the other 3 doors' vinyl panel trim/cover to match. No kidding, it really looks nice (see pictures). But I figured I'll hold off, since we decided to sell our Escape, having just bought a truck to haul an RV.
About the only other item is the rear right door has started giving an intermittent false "open/ajar" signal. Haven't determined if it's a loose wire or maybe a sticking switch, but otherwise it hasn't been a problem other than it may cause a false theft alarm once in awhile. Some YouTube videos suggest spraying the latch with WD40 to loosen it up, so I may try that first. These are mostly annoyances to me, but I've made allowance for this in my expectations for the pricing.
Almost forgot to mention, but notice on the dash center panel that there are TWO lighter/12V outlets, and a 110V AC outlet! Talk about convenient to have! We also added a front hood deflector shield which has undoubtedly helped to mitigate rock chips hitting the hood over the years.
Like I said, all in all, this is a very solid car, saving on gas as a Hybrid with good body inside and out, engine and transmission and cold AC. It'll serve you well as it has for us. Thanks for your interest and good luck on the auction or just select the BUY IT NOW!
Cheers,Brian
