1970 Ford Mustang Mach1 Description

Here is our 1970 Mustang Mach1 we are selling to purchase another classic car. First I want to clarify the mileage listed, the mileage is what has been put on the car since it's completed restoration in 2010, the motor was supposedly rebuilt 10,000 miles before we bought it by previous owner but was given no documentation at time of purchase, it uses no oil or smokes while getting 20 mpg on the highway with the overdrive transmission and has plenty of power for a 2 barrel Cleveland motor. This is NOT a 100 point trailer queen car but a nice classic mustang that I would drive anywhere and has won many trophies at local shows, we just got back from the Woodward Dream Cruise where it was at Mustang Alley and we were invited by Ford to take it on their 5 mile test track at their proving grounds reaching speeds of 85 to 100 mph. Now I will list what was done during the 5 year restoration.
Body.... Both quarters, outer wheelhouses, trunk floor, doors, front and rear valances were replaced along with a reproduction hood to cut hole for shaker assembly we added because we didn't want to cut up a original hood, painted in it's original Ford ( Y Code ) Chestnut Metallic 1 of 336 painted this color for 1970.
Interior.... Was Ginger from the factory but black made the exterior stand out more so the complete interior had to be replaced or painted. New headliner, dash pad, carpet, door panels were refurbished in black, seats were recovered, fold-down area was recarpeted, all metal and plastic trim was painted using specific types of paint for plastic or metal, new white faced autometer gauge cluster ( Tach ) with matching white faced clock, intermittent wipers, all door / window hood / trunk seals have been replaced, stereo is a Alpine AM/FM/CD player with Bluetooth and IPod capability also a 100w power amp with 12" subwoofer in the trunk.
Wiring.... All new chassis wiring front to back from Painless wiring including a H4 headlight kit, new alternator and red top battery, all lights and gauges work perfectly.
Suspension.... Rear springs and spring bushings are new, front upper and lower control arms are new with Moog bushings installed, KYB shocks on all 4 corners, front springs are originals, rear swaybar was upgraded to a 1" and the front was upgraded to 1 1/8", the car corners flat but it rides rough on bad roads.
Brakes / Tires.... Fronts are original Ford power disc brakes and the rears are SSBC disc conversion with adjustable proportioning valve, Tires are B.F. Goodrich T/A Radials 1 year old fronts are 14" rears are 15" both mounted on Magnum 500 wheels.
Drivetrain.... 351 Cleveland 2 barrel motor supposedly rebuilt 17K miles ago, painted ford blue with all new gaskets, new Ford performance black finned valve covers, new carb, FPA headers heat coated inside and out with 3" dual Flowmaster mufflers with "H" pipe, Edelbrock aluminum high flow water pump, Griffin aluminum radiator with Mr. Gasket dual electric fans, MSD ignition with 6a box and the distributor has been rebuilt with new bushings and timing gear by Bob's Small Distributor Co. A/C and heater has been rebuilt with all new parts except compressor and A/C lines then filled with R-12a because we couldn't get R-12 anymore and it works fine and blows cold, The transmission is automatic with overdrive built by PATC transmissions that can handle up to 550hp coupled to a 2500 stall torque convertor, rearend was rebuilt from a 3.00:1 open to a 3.50:1 limited slip with new bearing / seals / center section.
Trunk area.... Gas tank has a Tank Armor cover for fire safety purpose and the floor and sides are carpeted.
Glass.... Door glass / rear side glass / rear glass are good and original, windshield is a Ford reproduction, all glass has been tinted but windshield.
Extras.... Sale of car comes with 2 extra B.F. Goodrich tires (old used as spares) mounted on 14" Magnums, Edelbrock nickel plated aluminum 4 barrel to 2 barrel heads intake, spare new rear carpet section, spare set of new rear disc calibers, plastic storage container of misc. parts, Cover Craft car cover, spare set of leather bucket seats out of a 2005 Mustang that has had brackets replaced with ones that will work in the 1970 and the drivers seat is electric just bolt it in and plug 2 wires in and you are set to go on a long trip in comfort. Also some of the trophies it has won will come with car and service manuals on CD along with $38,500 in restoration receipts also the Marti Report.
Now a few bad notes to be honest about.... Front drivers fender to drivers door gap is not right, I argued with bodyshop until I was blue in the face but he could not seem to get it right and because of inconsiderate people over the last 7 years at car shows we have caught leaning on the car there is two small flat dimples on the rear quarters one on each side which could be pulled out by a paintless dent removal company at a small cost but if car doesn't sell we are just going to put it back in to a more reputable bodyshop to have these issues taken care of at one time.
Final Note.... I based my asking price on the appraisal I got when car was finished in 2010 of 45K adjusting for the 7 years we showed it and the boo boos I mentioned plus according to Haggerty's value chart who is the insurance company that insures the car we are at the low side of #2 excellent and the high side of #3 Good which would be 40K. Car is sold as is with no warranty and buyer is responsible for pick up or delivery of car, if you want a personal or paid inspection at your cost I will assist in any way I can as I'm not ashamed of what I have or trying to hide anything. Don't know if this will work but will try to post a video from youtube to more detail the condition of the car but be prepared as I'm not the best video guy or narrator on the planet. I reserve the right to end auction early as the car is listed for sale locally. A non refundable deposit is required through paypal with the rest to be paid in cash or a banks cashiers check at the time of picking up car in 7 days of auctions end.
I have a video on youtube that will detail more about the car and you can hear it run but ebay will not let me post it so if you are interested email me at 70mach1@mchsi.com with YouTube Video in the subject line and I will send you the link to the video.
Thanks for viewing my listing.
