1932 Ford Boydster II Roadster 2010 Sema Car LS1 - Incredible and Gorgeous
I am pleased to offer this incredible 1932 Ford Boydster II. The name “Boydster” is synonymous with unique, quality etc. just like the name sake Boyd Coddington. In the world of modern hot rodding, a top notch build is all about components and pedigree. That’s why Boyd Coddington was dubbed ‘The Hot Rod King’. He had an uncanny ability to take a vintage car and radically transform it using custom fabricated components and a keen eye for outrageous design. This spectacular 1932 Boydster II roadster features the absolute best of everything from its custom vibrant green flames to its chromed LS1 engine. If you are in the market for a reliable custom roadster that is capable winning local car show awards, but can still be taken out on the weekends for shear enjoyment, look no further than this gorgeous ’32. VIN # is 18155539. Mileage is only 402 +/- miles. This hot ’32 Ford began life in the famous shop of Boyd Coddington when the previous owner purchased it as a rolling chassis equipped with the fiberglass Boydster 2 body. It was then shot in a brilliant silver, cobalt blue and then had vibrant green flames and pinstriping applied to the car. Completed in time to showcase at the 2010 SEMA show, today it presents as if it was finished yesterday. Of course, to execute any ultra-clean street rod well, means you need to go the extra mile to get everything straight. And fortunately, the guys working on this slick little number understood the scale of their mission and sanded until their fingers bled. Simply put its one highly unique custom that’s in outstanding physical condition! Features:
Striking an excellent balance of old and new, this well executed Ford mixes the unique appeal of pre-war design with the monochromatic style of modern hot rod building. At the front of the car, bright headlights flank a slick billet grille that’s capped by a body-matched frame. The massive silver fenders that cover the front tires are the main separation from the standard Boydster bodies. At the top of the car, an awesome visor-style windshield is framed by chrome. At the sides of the car, you’ll find four classy chrome heat extractors resting on the hood that flow seamlessly to the suicide shaved doors. And at the back of the car, a smooth trunk lid rides above a body width flush fitting LED tail lights and large single exhaust tip. Pop the car’s tight-sealing hood and you’ll find a fresh LS1 small block V8 crate engine from Street and Performance that’s been designed for both performance and reliability. After tuning, the all-aluminum motor creates an estimated 400hp. At the front of that smooth engine, a reusable filter element shoots air into a multi-port fuel injection system through a reliable GM throttle body. Aesthetically, the engine continues the silver and green theme as the fuel rail covers feature the vibrant green flames. In front of the engine an aluminum radiator is responsible for cooling the powerful small block with the help of an electric puller fan. The firewall is free of any distraction as the master cylinder is hidden under the dash. Underneath this incredible street rod is simply breathtaking. Put it on a lift and you’ll find a complete Coddington chassis that’s been fully boxed and decked in silver. Behind the car’s sweet Chevy engine, a pushbutton 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to a Boyd’s Custom Jaguar style rear-end with 3.73 gears. Holding that stellar drivetrain off the ground is an impressive custom suspension which features 2024 billet aluminum spindles and chrome coil-over shocks. Turns are a cinch thanks to modern rack and pinion steering system that provides a tight radius and great wheel feel. Stops come courtesy of four wheel disc brake system that’s augmented by Boyd’s brake caliper. Exhaust is handled by polished stainless pipes which rumble through polished Magnaflow mufflers and funnel into a single exhaust tip. And putting the power to the pavement is a nice set of 15” and 17” Boyd Coddington wheels which spin 195/55R15 Goodyear Eagles in front of 255/55R17 Goodyear Eagles. Simply put, not a detail was missed on the bottom of this fully sorted roadster, from the chrome driveshaft to the braided fuel and oil lines; everything serves a purpose and looks fantastic doing so. Inside this awesome street rod you’ll find a $6K leather interior that was designed and installed by Bob Lyons of Brookville. There’s modern, silver contoured seats which are firm, provide good support and look fantastic. At the sides of those seats, sculpted silver door panels feature large speakers that are as functional as they are stylish. Below those seats, clean silver carpet anchors chrome-trimmed foot pedals. In front of those seats, a body-matched dash continues the green flames seen throughout the rest of the car and it’s here you’ll see a small Classic Instruments instrument panel branded with the letters “Boyds”. In between the two silver bucket seats, a classy console runs the length of the interior and seamlessly flows up the back seats. Centered in the console is the controls for the push button automatic transmission, and flip CD player. In front of the driver, a three-spoke steering wheel spins a color-keyed rim around a polished tilt steering column. And behind the passengers, the car’s fully upholstered trunk continues the silver theme and features enough room for a cooler and a few chairs to take to the local car show.
