2004 Ford Mustang Saleen Speedster Convertible #173 Supercharged Description

For sale 2004 Mustang Saleen Speedster Convertible #173 Supercharged 4.6L. 5 speed manual transmission. The car has 57,xxx miles. This is an authentic Saleen that is still mostly stock. The car is 1 of 1, based on color and options. I have a letter of authenticity from Saleen as well as a copy of the original window sticker. These will be included with the sale. Once you take ownership, you can contact Saleen and they can revise the letter to reflect your name and address. I’ve owned the car since 2010 and it has been garage kept ever since. I had it repainted in the summer of 2013 and had a new top put on it, as well. During this time, I swapped the original chrome wheels to black replicas, with new tires. I still have the original chrome wheels and those will be included with the sale. A few other upgrades were also made. They are:

Smaller supercharger pulley (the original will be included with the sale)

Long Tube Headers

Off Road H Pipe

Flowmaster Cat Back (The original axel back exhaust is still on the car, as it’s a center exhaust.)

Upgraded Brembo Brakes

The car just had all fluids changed, including the intercooler, in May.

Accident. Yes, this car was in an accident. Single car. We went through a chain link fence. There was no extensive damage to the car, other than a ton of scratches from the fence. The car was completely repainted and I went ahead and replaced the top, too. The paint is better than when it came off the factory line. It has not seen rain since the repaint. The title is clean and in my hands.

A/C blows cold, the convertible top works fine and no leaks, all electronics work. The car is solid and looks and runs great. The only reason I am selling is I want it to go to someone that will drive it. A car like this is meant to be driven and not sit in the garage.

The original chrome wheels are fine structurally, but the chrome is peeling on a few of the wheels. So, if you want to put them back on the car, you will probably want to get the re-chromed. Unfortunately, Saleen doesn’t make the wheel anymore, so they are rare to begin with.

There is a scratch on the driver side rear panel and part of the spoiler. I honestly have no idea how it got there, as it was in a garage. The only assumption I have is a bug, like a spider, had something like a rock stuck to it and it walked across this section of the car. See photos. Otherwise, the exterior is a 9/10 and I would give the interior an 8/10, mainly due to the wear on the driver seat. Even then, it’s still minimal.

A true Saleen lover will notice the window decal is larger than stock. When I purchased the car, the one on the it was peeling and needed to be replaced. I had assumed the one I purchased was authentic and the correct size. Obviously, it wasn’t. But I wasn’t going to order a new one and replace it. You can replace it, if you like.

This car is a true collectable. I was planning to have it for a very long time and hand it down to my children. But, plans change. Do with it what I was unable to do. Drive it and enjoy it!
