1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Sedan 2-Door Description

Up for auction is a beautiful 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with less than 52,000 original miles. This 80's classic is Medium Red with a scarlet red interior. Options include a 2.3 Liter Turbo Charged 4 cylinder Engine, 4 speed automatic with overdrive, power sunroof, cruise control, tilt wheel, power drivers seat and an aftermarket Kenwood Stereo with AM/FM/CD/MP3 with USB port.
The check engine light is on, however, the engine runs fine otherwise (starts up on the first try, idles smoothly, no black smoke at the exhaust pipe, overall the engine runs as what is expected from a car with 50,000 miles). The transmission shifts smooth and the car drives real nice. The turbo makes about 9 lbs of boost (which is typical for the automatic transmission version of the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe).
The programmed ride control suspension has been replaced with an after market non-adjustable KYB Struts, Shocks and Axle dampers at 50,000 miles. All of the options on the car still work with the exception of the following: 1.) Adjustable suspension (since KYB suspension is non-adjustable) and 2.) Due to compatibilityissues, the Graphic Equalizer is not hooked up to the Kenwood Stereo. The original factory AM/FM Cassette Stereocomes with the car but it does not work according to the original owner of the car.If I was judging the car in a car show, I would rate the exterior condition a 7 out of 10 and the interior condition an 8 out of 10. As far as the exterior, the car is rust-free and the paint has a really nice shine to it with no oxidation. Chips and scratches as well as some loose exterior molding keep the exterior condition from being a 10 out of 10. As far as theinterior condition, the seats and the carpet are in excellent condition. The dash board has no cracks and the headliner is in excellent condition. The bottom side of the door arm pads (for both driver and passenger doors) need to be re-gluedand the back seat headrests are sun faded which keep the interior condition from being a 10 out of 10.
Overall, the car is not perfect but is in really nice shape for a 30 year old car. As it stands, it is nice enough to take to a car show but may fall a little short in getting a trophy. This car is an excellent candidate to be turned into a really nice show car.
