2001 Ford F-450 XL Description

Hello and thanks for viewing our 2001 Ford F450 Cab n Chassis. This unit was used by a local fire dept as a Crash rescue/ clean up vehicle. It was stored indoors since new and has been meticulously maintained by the borough mechanic. Fluid changes and tune ups were done on a regular basis. No expense was spared on its upkeep and the guys driving it didn't pay for the fuel so it always had a full tank and was never run low. Truck starts right up with a quarter turn of the key and the engine runs strong and smooth. No white smoke comes out of the exhaust and there is zero blow by. The transmission shifts smooth and right on the mark through all its gears. Everything on the inside works 100% as it should and it was upgraded with a factory CD player. Air blows ice cold and the heat blows hot. The seat in this truck is so nice I almost swear it must be new, it's like perfect! Nothing bad I can say about this unit. Usually when We purchase these vehicles a little work hasTo be done here and ther, but with this one we barely had to do anything as it was already a pretty much perfect rig. The suspension sits tall and strong. It sits so high that most people that see it assume it's a 4x4. It was just very lightly driven and super well taken care of. The truck is equipped with the legendary 7.3 powerstroke turbo diesel. These engines have been documented to go over a million miles. Don't want to believe me? Just go to any powerstroke forum online and do a little research. The 7.3 is the most highly sought after engine platform to have in a truck right now. And as the years go o, it gets harder and harder to find them with low mileage and without rust. Also the F series trucks equipped with the Diesel engines also came with a heavier duty transmission so these powertrains are pretty much indestructible if you take care of them. This truck is ready for you to turn it into whatever you want. I bought this one and took off the utility body bought a dually bed and planned on making it a F450 dually pick up. I realized I don't have time for the project as I amBusy building jeeps and other commercial trucks trying to make a living. I have the dually bed wich is in perfect condition and is ready for paint. This truck is also the perfect truckFor someone who wants to make a tow truck or a wrecker and doesn't want the junk 6.0 or 6.4 and doesn't want to spend 90 grand on a new 6.7. Can be made back into a utility truck. Can be made into a flat bed hauler with a 5th wheel, the possibilities are endless. With the power train this truck has and the condition it's i, this truck will last decades more if properly maintained. Here's the demensions of the chassis. From cab end to frame end you have 9 feet. From the cab end to the center of the rear hub you have 5 feet.
