1936 Ford Phaeton Description

For auction is super solid and straight 1936 Ford Phaeton. This rare project car could be restored to a national AACA winner or street rodded for an open car for the whole family. This car has been in inside storage for over 50 years.Although sheet metal was basically very nice the floor pan was bad. All sheet metal frame and suspension were sandblasted (properly). Body was completely disassembled and an excellent original floor pan from another car was used for assembly. Repairs were made to lower body as required. All repairs were made with steel and butt welded. No overlap, pop rivets, glue, brass or bondo plugging here! New wood was fabricated and installed to repair the rotted parts. Body was aligned and fitted together, all panel margins align correctly and doors shut effortlessly and latch correctly.Detailed photos were taken at all stages of restoration. Car is painted with enamel Primer and is almost paint ready. Running boards are NOS original Ford first time ever installed on a vehicle.Engine is a good later 1940 flathead. It was last run on a test stand in May 2014, with our test carburator and wiring. Mechanical condition of front end and rear ends are unknown. The car was converted to hydraulic brakes at some point early in it's life.If you have any questions call Bob @ 613-623-6705. I am about 3.5 hours north of Syracuse NY, you are welcome to and inspect. Many people ask what about shipping to USA? Any trouble getting across the border? Do you know any trucking companies? A commercial carrier has to go through a broker crossing the border. There are no tariffs, taxes, or duties but the broker charges a fee...depending on the value, usually around $200. If you come get the car yourself you don't require a broker...its considered a casual entry and the US customs officer fill out the paper work free of charge. This paper work shows you have legally imported the vehicle into the US. It may be required when you license the vehicle in your state. Sorry No trades. Good luck Bidding.
