1957 Ford T-Bird D-Code. 390 Cadillac Engine 1960.
Complete restoration in 2016 to very high standard. All new rubber, glass, stainless and chrome work restored. 390 Cadillac engine with B & M hydromatic transmission. Engine was installed in the 1960's to compete with the new Corvettes. These conversions were done by Bill Frick & Tappet of Long Island, New York known as the "Fordalack". It was a Corvette beater and money maker street racer. Very rare car.
A very nice driving T-Bird. Smooth and quiet with 400+ hp and 500 lbs. of torque. Shifts and accelerates with authority. Handling is exceptional with Bilstein shocks and high performance front sway bar. Power steering and power disc brakes. Drives very nice at freeway speed with 2.47 rear end gears. 1800 rpm at 65 mph. Engine and trans have undergone precision rebuild with many upgrades. New lightweight starter with compact racecar battery. Has ten year expected life. Dual 2 1/4" Flow Master exhaust. Quiet flow. Nothing cut under the hood. Can be returned to stock engine. Have fender skirts.
All new interior with reconditioned instruments. 15" steering wheel. Very nice 2-stage paint work. Was stripped to bare metal and primered with the best materials. Took 3 months and $15,000 in paint work. California car-rust free. Soft tops are available from Prestige Thunderbird of Santa Fe Springs.
