I am moving abroad and sadly have to sell my beloved van "Big Blue".Chances are if you are reading this you already know how rare and sought after these vehicles are.4x4 Quigley modification; the legendary 7.3L Power Stroke engine; E-350 Super Duty chassis; 7-passengers van (w/ rear bench); 3 TV screens with VHS player and hook ups for a gaming console or DVD player; full tow package.
The engine runs strong and perfect, no problems with cold starts or bad injectors. (see video)The frame only shows superficial rust. The underside of the body has rust, however most of it has been treated with primers and POR-15 to slow it down (see picture to get an idea). There are two rust holes in the cargo area under the carpet that have been cleaned, treated, closed off with sheet metal, and a layer of painted plywood has been added to the entire cargo floor. The visible parts of the body show no signs of rust with the exception of two rust holes just above the running boards near the rear wheels on both sides. These holes were cleaned and treated with POR-15 to prevent deterioration. They are shown in the pictures as well, they are currently closed off with foil tape.
These are the upgrades/repairs of the last 2 years:- New fuel pump (less than 100 miles)- New Oil Pan (this is a very important repair as it is very costly, and rusty oil pans are a well known problem with these vans)- New rear main seal- New U-Bolts on drive shaft- New right front ABS sensor- Roof sanded and primed with POR-15- New copper brake lines- New cam shaft positioning sensor- Fuel tank cleaned and treated with POR-15
- New AC condenser
- AC lines repaired and system re-charged- Fridge with freezer compartment added in place of a middle seat (will come with the original seat would you wish to swap it back)- 120v Inverter system for the fridge and other appliances with an Optima deep cycle battery controlled by an automatic charge switcher- Fumoto Oil Drain Valve for fast and easy oil changes- Oil, Oil filter, Transmission fluid, and fuel filter changed at the regular recommended intervals- Extendable power towing mirrors- Simple alarm system
Known issues:- There is a slow oil leak coming from the High Pressure Oil Pump. I have not felt the need to get this repaired since the leak starts only when the engine is running, and it doesn't affect performance. I find myself having to top up about 1 to 2 qts of oil between oil changes.
- Rust holes in cargo area and above running boards as explained above.- The AC/heat lines going to the back have been cut and bypassed to avoid potential rust problems. The AC and heat in the front works without any issue.- The ABS warning light will currently stay on because of a faulty wheel speed sensor (∼$75)
- The cruise speed control will work for a length of time and then disengage. After waiting for some time it is possible to use it again.- The battery in the engine compartment (the van has a total of 3 including the one for the inverter) will need replacing in the near future as it is approaching the end of its life.- The interior plastic is stained and showing its age in some places (see last picture as an example).- The driver side mirror has a broken glass.
I will include the following extras:- Roof top running lights hood, the color is matched with the van- E-350 series electrical diagrams- Official Ford DVD containing the complete set of service manuals- Aluminum Cargo carrier, hitch-mounted
Please note that the vehicle is for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end this auction if needed.
