1930 Ford Model A Deuce Roadster Description

1930 Ford Model-A Deuce Roadster

1930 Ford Model-A Deuce Roadster built by the Stirnemann brothers of St. Louis. It’s powered by a ’49 Merc flathead backed to a C4 trans and rolls on ET-II knockoff wheels. This car was one of 13 Hot Rods selected for the 2016 America’s Most Beautiful Roadster competition.

At first glance, some may mistake Jack Stirnemann’s Model A for a ’32 Ford roadster. That’s because he and his brother Harry outfitted the roadster with a wealth of Deuce parts from the frame rails and front fenders to the grille shell and cowl vent. This car was one of 13 Hot Rods selected for the 2016 America’s Most Beautiful Roadster competition. It has been featured in Rodder’s Journal Calendar, Street Scene Magazine and other numerous publications. The body and chassis are beautifully finished in Aston Martin Warwick Blue.

Body: Original steel 1930 Ford Model A roadster body that has been channeled 2” over an original 1932 Ford frame that has been pinched in at the firewall and reworked to fit the narrow Model A body. The front fenders are reworked to fit the channeled body, front splash pan modified to fit the 2.5 inch chopped grill shell. A custom hood has been made to fit all the modified parts. A 32 cowl vent has been installed in the “A” body. King Bee headlights are installed on a dropped 32 headlight bar. The 32 rear fenders were bobbed 6 inches to blend into the custom rear pan all protected by a tubular nerf bar bumper and 1939 Ford tear drop taillights.

Chassis: Split 1947 Ford wishbone to position the custom tube axle with Vega steering box and Willwood disc brakes. In the back is a Halibrand Quick Change with a custom 4 bar to locate the rear axle which hangs on a 40 Ford leaf spring and 9 inch ford brakes. All of this riding on a set of real knock off ET Sebring wheels with BF Goodrich tires. The bottom of the chassis is covered by a set of louvered belly pans as seen in the photos.

Engine and Transmission: A 1949 Mercury flathead V8 connected to a C4 Ford automatic transmission. The engine is equipped with aluminum Edelbrock heads, Fenton headers, 3 Two barrel carbs and a custom air cleaner to match the heads, and alternator designed to look like an old generator and a MSD ignition all made to look like old Ford equipment.

Interior: Tan leather roll & pleat design on the seats, door panels, and kick panels accent the square weave carpet. Hand painted wood grain finish on the dashboard with Stewart Warner winged gauges. Seat and shoulder belts for safety. Inside and dual outside mirrors. Locking 1940 Ford steering column with shifter and self-canceling directional signals. Handmade lift off cloth top, connected to a 32 Ford windshield that has been chopped 3 inches. Windshield is sloped back to give a more streamline appearance. This is accomplished by reworking a set of Model A lower posts and chopped 32 stanchions.

This car is a one of a kind work of art with countless hours having been spent on the project. It is a true custom hand built car ready for your enjoyment. We invite you to come and see the car personally so you can appreciate the workmanship and craftsmanship for yourself! Overall, this is a great opportunity to purchase what is likely to be one of the finest Ford roadsters in existence today.
