EBAY FEEDBACK
Ebay feedback is extremely important . I have received xlnt comments from others whom have bought cars from me and most of the cars I listed have sold prior to the auctions scheduled end date to buyers that used the "Buy It Now" feature. I am not a dealer . I am merely selling off a large collection of cars we have had for years and some of our relatives cars that don't have an Ebay account, however, I am a mechanic and professional vintage Muscle car restorer specializing in Mustangs, and some of the cars I built sold for world record prices at Barrett Jackson and other venues so I know cars extremely well.

Factory C code with a mildly modified 289 engine.
This is a very early California built car that has always been in the dry desert area.
The engine was fully rebuilt to stock specs around 35,000 miles ago. It was bored only .030" over.
I just installed fully rebuilt 1969 351 Windsor heads that were also milled to maintain close to stock compression, an Edlebrock F4B aluminum intake, a mild custom grind 351 Windsor style camshaft from Herbert Racing, new Sealed Power HT900 hydraulic lifters, new Cloyes True Roller timing chain, Edlebrock style carburetor, Factory Ford HEI distributor and ignition box, new crankshaft damper seal sleeve, new timing cover seal and gaskets, new steel core fel-pro print o seal intake gaskets, new water pump and a 3 row 20" wide 68 radiator and new 68 radiator shroud.
The exhaust has stock cast iron manifolds which I painted when they were off and it has 2 1/4" dual pipes with aftermarket mufflers. It is just a little louder than a stock ford dual exhaust system so it has a slight performance sound t it but it is far more quiet than most high perf exhaust sytems you have heard so it is by no means obnoxious and it does not drone inside the car like may do.
The transmission is fully rebuilt with borg warner clutches and bands and it has a very mild shift kit. It shifts xlnt and nearly like stock so it is not overly firm.
The rear gears are the optional 3.00 which are numerically slightly higher than the more common 2.80 gears that come in these cars so it accelerates well.
The engine idles extremely smoothly and nearly like a stock 289 with just the slightest hint of a performance cam in the exhaust note. The camshaft range is 800 to 5200 rpm. It never smokes when starting or idling or while driving when it is floored. It does have a slight cyclic vibration which may be from old hard motor mounts or they may not have balanced the engine when they rebuilt it.
ENGINE PERFORMANCE
The throttle response is incredible and there is absolutely ZERO hesitation in the engine when accelerating from any speed or when flooring it from a stop, and if you floor it from a stop it will easily roast the tire every single time. It pulls much harder and accelerates much faster than even a stock 4 barrel 289.
It has power steering and I have the pump but the pump needs to be reinstalled. I don't know the condition of the control valve.
BODY
The body still has all the original sheet metal which is all good enough to use but a couple minor repairs will need to be made if you want it make it a show car. It has never been in an accident and never had a large dent but it has had a few minor dings repaired. The panels are straight and not wavy like they are on many other old Mustangs these days. There is very little rust and it has never been stored near the beach where cars get rust in virtually every seam from the salt air.
There is a little rust in the lower front corner of the drivers door. This is typical on these cars even in desert areas and is caused by 50 years of rain water and car washing because there is no sealer in the front corner area inside the door like there is inside the rest of the door. A body shop will charge between $75.00 and $125.00 to cut the bad area out which is typically around 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" and weld in a new section of metal in. If someone tells you their 50 year old car never had any rust you better take a magnet and place it on the typical rust areas before you buy it to see if it sticks or not.
The fender aprons are straight and not rusted out under the battery box like many are.
INTERIOR
It is 100% original and needs everything except for the headliner which is still in useable condition with no tears or stitching coming undone. It is a very early built car so it has 64 1/2 style carpet which is still available if you want to use that, otherwise the 65/66 style carpet is a direct replacement if you prefer that style.
DISCOUNT PRICES ON NEW PARTS
I am a Scott Drake dealer which is the biggest mfg of replacement parts for these cars and can sell you anything they make for around 12% less than list price if you need anything for the car
SHIPPING
If you need it shipped, I can easily get it shipped anywhere in the world at prices that are lower than most others.
TITLE AND REGISTRATION
It has a clear California title and current registration.
INSPECTION
I encourage people to come and see it and am available to show it most anytime.
