1973 Ford F-100 Description

Ford fans, never fear, we have great old pickups for you as well. Perhaps they worked harder than their Chevy counterparts, or perhaps fewer were built, but it seems that there are not nearly as many early-70s Fords. Fortunately, we have found this one, which is a nicely restored 1973 Ford F-100 4x4 that's ready to attack any project in style..
I don't know about you, but we think that bright red paint job has the right look for the period and it works really well on the truck's neatly creased sheetmetal, which has benefited from spending its entire life in the warm Georgia sun. Still showing some of the '60s detailing but a forward look that would stay with Ford for a generation, this '73 is a neat example of the evolution of the pickup truck. It's been repainted in the last couple years and the bright red still looks great and it's always the right choice on a vintage pickup. It's got a nice shine and luster and looks pretty darn good going down the road. Also note the embossed spear that runs from nose to tail on each side, the molded-in fender flares and rocker panel accents, and the oversized mirrors that are great for pulling a trailer and give it an old-school heavy-duty look. The chrome bumpers are new, the stainless has been properly maintained, and a professionally sprayed-in bedliner means that this hauler is still ready to do some work when it's needed. But you'll definitely think twice before you get this one dirty.
The black interior with durable vinyl upholstery doesn't stray too far from this truck's working-class roots, and that's OK. That's a fresh replacement seat cover and it works well with the painted interior and simple door panels. The rest is pretty original and stock, including the instrument panel that shows familiar Ford square gauges all working as they should. The factory AM/FM/8-track stereo remains in the center of the dash and there are heavy-duty floor mats over basic rubber floors for the ultimate in durability. The transmission is a 4-speed manual, so it's a lot of fun to drive on or off road, and the lever next to it controls the 2-speed transfer case so you really can go just about anywhere with it. There's also a modern steering wheel for further comfort, but it blends in pretty well and doesn't detract from the vintage look. Overall, the truck retains its OEM flavor, but the comfort and convenience items make it a pleasure to drive.
The engine is a burly 390 cubic inch V8, and the engine bay looks pretty original except for the engine itself, which wears fresh Ford Blue paint. There are a lot of new components that help with both performance and reliability, including a Holley carburetor on the factory intake manifold, plus tune-up parts like the plug wires, coil, and distributor cap. A chrome air cleaner gives it a sporty look that's right on a big block like this and a dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers sounds suitably powerful. The aforementioned 4-speed and transfer case power a set of heavy-duty axles, including a 9-inch out back, so you don't have to worry about breakage. The chassis is like the engine bay, original but in very good condition while showing off its southern roots, and with the standard heavy-duty 4x4 suspension, it does look heavy-duty enough for anything. Brand new Mickey Thompson polished aluminum wheels certainly help, as do those new giant 31x10.50-15 Firestone off-road tires that really set it off.
Old trucks are red hot, offering V8 power and practicality you can't get anywhere else. Few offer the combination of handsome good looks and go-anywhere capabilities this Ford provides, making it a great choice for your garage. These don't come up for sale too often, and never last long Call today!
