2000 Ford Excursion xlt Description

This truck has lived its entire life in California, until a few weeks ago. It has never seen road salt until the last couple weeks. The underside looks like a new vehicle from a rust standpoint. It does not have any corrosion problems like leaky exhaust manifolds, rotted brake lines, cab corners and cab mounts rotted out. NO CANCER! that is the main selling point. If you are looking at vehicles in the Midwest - do yourself a favor and look at the underside.
It was previously owned by the city of Salinas California. It is the XLT model, which has all the power options like power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering. But it does not have carpeting - it has a rubber floor. It also has cloth bench seats front and back. The 3rd row seat did not come with the vehicle. The second row seats can be folded down to make tons of room. I am 6,1" and can lay down in the back & I do not have to bend my knees - it's as roomy as a full size van.
The truck has 132,750 miles (slightly less, but i'm still driving it). The engine runs great and has tons of power. The transmission shifts perfect. I actually used it to pick something up from Georgia & pulled about 3,000 pounds of weight back on a 4,000 pound equipment trailer with no problems, all the way back to Ohio. It tracks straight & there is no unusual front tire wear & virtually no slop in the steering. The brakes work perfect. It also incudes a trailer brake controller. Bottom line - it's mechanically sound. Also, the 4x4 works & has manual locking hubs.
Cosmetically, I would rate it a 7 out of 10. It has some dings and dents. It also has some antenna holes in the roof, that now have silicon covering the holes. The front bumper looks as if it had an antenna removed & there are 4 bolt holes drilled into it. The bumper also has a big dent as seen in the photo. It needs new window opener struts for the back glass - they are weak & you have to hold it up. It also has a Reese hitch. The tires are in good condition and are well over 50% tread remaining. Maybe 60 or 70 - I don't know, but you won't have to buy tires for a while.
I buy trucks from out west and down south, bring them back to the rust belt to re sell. Why spend $60,000 or $70,000 on a comparable brand new model, when it will rust at the same rate as this one? This one will run for many years before you start having the common corrosion related problems.
I prefer cash on pickup. I am willing to pick you up from Cleveland Hopkins airport, if you are willing to drop me off at home (25 minute drive from airport). Can be seen locally in Sheffield Village, OH 44054.
