1962 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt Tribute Description

DESCRIPTION

You are looking at a 1962 Ford fairlane 500 Thunderbolt tribute car, Its powered by a pro built 351 dart block with a 427 stroker kit, 4.125 bore. It has a 750 Holley carb, Roller Cam, MSD Ignition, runs on premium pump gas. It has forged Mahle pistons with teflon skirts, 10.3:1 compression. The roller cam is 544 lift and 290 duration. It has big valve 58cc aluminum heads and aluminum radiator. The rear end has Yukon axles, 3:55 gears and a Yukon locker. The tires are Mickey Thompson Drag radials and sportsmans on the front. The interior is very nice, headliner, door panels, carpet, and seats are all good. The factory gauges are not connected in favor of the aftermarket gauge pod. The factory fuel gauge does work the speedometer does not work. The volt meter is also not working; it was just converted to a one wire alternator. This is a 2 door post body with sub frame connectors, Calvert leaf springs and the thunderbolt traction set up in the rear. This car has good street manners and would be fun to take to the vintage drag races. It does not have a roll cage installed, wanted to keep the passenger compartment user friendly. Like most older cars when it was located for this build it had been sitting for many years and the title was lost before that. The owner got a bill of sale and was able to receive a bonded title in the state Texas, the bond will go away in less than three years. It does have plenty of power when you want to gas it. The Yukon gears make some noise at highway speed, it does not have extra insulation under the carpet to keep the exhaust and road noise down. The flowmaster mufflers give it the great muscle car sound. It has a great stance, the tires are ticked under the fender wells and the stock steel wheels give it the all business look. The top loader 4 speed is from a 1969 Ford Torino it shifts good and transfer the torque through a center force clutch. The bumpers are painted glass fenders also to keep the car light, the hood is the classic Thunderbolt high-rise. Check out the pictures and watch the video. Give us a call to own this cool car.
