This truck is a beast and it's painful to sell. It runs absolutely fantastic, and still gives me chills every time I fire it up. One of the best sounding trucks I've ever heard, I get compliments every time I drive it. The motor and trans are real strong and will go for many years. Cosmetically she isn't perfect, but that's to be expected for a 10 year old truck from the north.
I bought this truck as a project truck about a year ago. Since then much has changed in my life and I no longer have the time or money available to continue investing in it the way I'd like to. I bought it from a guy who used it for fun and to pull a camper. It was basically stock except for...-4" pro comp lift-35" tires on 17x9 wheels-Projector headlights-Touchscreen DVD stereo system-ToolboxSince I bought it here's the work I've done...-All the components to bulletproof the motor except head studs. This included new Ford oil cooler, oil cooler screen, EGR delete, coolant filter. The previous owner had Ford change the headgaskets, so I left them alone.-6.0 update kit which included dummy plugs, standpipes, turbo drain tube, blue spring update, STC fitting-Cleaned/rebuilt the turbo with new internals and KC turbos billet compressor wheel and 10 blade turbine wheel-Added 7" stacks-A pillar gauges(fuel pressure, boost, and EGT)-Upgraded FICM from ficmrepair.com-ELC coolant-5w40 synthetic oil-SCT X3 with tunes from Innovative Diesel-New batteries with a 1 year warranty which I still have the receipt for
There are a few issues:-Needs new rotors and pads on at least the front wheels-Needs a new front right hub assembly-ABS light is on-AC compressor leaks, I have a new compressor but haven't installed it yet-The EGT gauge quit on me awhile ago-The wheel arches are rusting. Fender flares will cover it, or you could grind the rust out-There's a tear in the driver's arm rest
She definitely isn't perfect, but I daily drove it from August until November without a problem. She always fires right up, even in the dead of winter. I drove her from Chicago to Minneapolis without a problem, turbo whistling the whole way! Really a fun truck, just needs a new home.
