*ORIGINAL* 1932 FORD 5 WINDOW COUPE HOT STREET ROD SCTA T.R.O.G. H.A.M.B. 32
1932 Ford B-5 WIndow Coupe Description
Up for sale today is a beautiful example of an American classic. It is an original 1932 Ford 5 window coupe. A complete ground up restoration has just been completed on this hot rod, and is now ready to be enjoyed for miles to come.
First off is the frame. The chassis started off at Curbside Chassis in Ohio. There Boyd set the new ASC frame rails in the jig and began the construction. The frame was boxed and new tubular cross members were installed. The front end consists of a new tube drop axel, with mono leaf spring, and 4-bar front suspension. The rear end was bought brand new from Currie and is a 9" set up with 3.25 gears. A triangulated 4-bar set up completes the rear end. The complete chassis and suspension parts were all powder coated a semi gloss black to prevent chips and scratches. In order to stop this ride, there are a set of disc brakes up front and new drums in the rear. The chassis rides on a new set of painted 15" steelies, wrapped in rubber, Coker Firestone F560 with 235/15 in the rear and 145/15 in the front and finished off with v8 logo hubcaps.
The best part of the car has to be the original body. The body is unchopped, not channeled, still has the original cowl vent opening, and the top has been filled. The car was originally found in the Akron, Ohio area where it has sat apart for the last 50+ years at an old farmer's house. This truly was a barn find. Since purchasing it last year, the body has gotten a complete make-over. The sub rails needed to be replaced to make the car correct, so while I was at it, I installed a new floor as well. The rest of the body wasn't that bad, but instead of just mudding over it I went ahead and installed the proper replacement panels in the lower doors, lower cowl, and lower quarters. The firewall was also replaced with a new one from Bitchen, in order to have it recessed. The fender package is straight from Brookville Roadster. All four fenders, rear horn covers, front apron, grill shell with insert, gas tank and Rootlieb 20 louver hood are all brand new. This body, once fixed, was good enough to run in all bare metal. But that wasn't good enough, so the car was sprayed with the best PPG had to offer. The Black fenders are offset by the Dearborn Blue.
The inside of the car is all brand new. A new steel dash displays a Stewart Warner panel filled with a set of Winged Stewart Warner gauges. Under the dash is all nice and clean, with hidden switches, and all wired up using Rebel Wiring. The steering in the car is a new IDIDIT column, topped with a shrunk 40 Ford wheel, Borgeson Joints, and finished off with a new Vega steering box. The seat in the car is original, with new springs from Mac's, and covered in a satin black Allante material. The interior in the car is reminiscent of the 1950's styling with roll and tuck pleating and a fine wool carpet is on the floor. Behind the metal garnish moldings is all new tinted glass, with new regulators and cat whiskers finishes up the interior. All three pieces of glass do roll up and down.
The power plant of the car is a mild rebuilt SBC. The engine features new headers, a Zip's water pump riser, Edelbrock intake with matching Carb, Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, and HEI distributor. It is cooled with a new Walker Radiator and a Flex fan. Nothing too fancy, just meant to look understated and clean, but still gets this Deuce up and moving. Behind the engine is a completely rebuilt Turbo 350, from Janis Transmission, and a Lokar shifter.
As you can see, alot of time and money, especially the money part, went into this car. This car is being sold in order to let someone else enjoy it while I move onto the next project. It is sold with a good Ohio title in my name. Email me or Give me a call and lets talk. Car will be at Columbus Goodguys this weekend so come check it out in the Swap Meet.
