1969 Ford F100 Flareside, Stepside
1969 Ford F-100 Description
What made America great was the hardworking generation of people thatcame home from a day of work with grit under their fingernails, andhappy about it. And the vehicles they typically drove were equallyhard working pickup trucks. Although this truck was obviously neverpressed hard for work, it's trucks like this one that helped makeAmerica the great country that it once was. I think this is why thesepickups strike a happy chord with America; it reminds them of a verydifferent time in our history. But I digress...this 1969 Ford F100 isin original unmolested condition with the very rarely seen "flareside"bed (or "stepside" if you're a Chevy type of person). In it's 47 yearsof existence, it's only accumulated 73,000 miles since rolling out ofthe dealer's lot in Fayetteville, Alabama where it spent it's lifesince we acquired it from the original owner. That's just over 1500miles per year! The truck was obviously loved and well cared for andstored indoors. It is 99% original and is wearing an older respray init's original awesome color; Boxwood Green, which although has a fewchips and a few very small bubbles in a couple of spots, it stillshows and shines wonderfully. It even has the dealer-installed'farmer's rear bumper' with the dealer's name still engraved in it.The body is very straight and solid with no rot, the floor pans arerust free too, very very clean underbelly. The original inline 240cubic inch engine fires right up and purrs like a kitten and runs likethe day it was new. The original three-on-the tree manual transmissionis silky smooth too, just amazing. No smoke, no noises, no nothing tospeak of! The suspension is compliant and soft, driving down thebumpiest of roads you would think you were riding in a Cadillac, thistruck is smooth and doesn't rattle or make any sort of funky noises,I'm amazed at how great it truly is. All body gaps are nice andstraight, glass is crystal clear with no cracks or spidering orfogging, windows all open and close smoothly including the quartervent windows. Interior features an off-white bench seat andheadliner....amazing for a pickup truck if you think about it!Original rubber floor mat in black sets of the interior along with ablack dash pad. An accessory gun rack is there too...another reminderof a bygone era. The oak bed wood is in great shape and is set off bystainless steel strips and hardware. Brakes and brake lines wererecently replaced with new copper/nickel, radial tires are like newcondition. The undercarriage is as clean as the top side! The frame isrock solid with no rot or rust, very very clean, no issues. The truckstops straight and firm, the steering is tight and everything works asit should, the alignment is dead-on too. The horn, signals, lights, fan, heater, instruments all work as they should. If I were to keepthis truck, the only things that I would do is stain or paint the bedwood black, per the original factory, and perhaps change the modernstereo out for an original radio. Other than that, this truck needsnothing to be enjoyed as-is. This is a "fly in and drive it home"truck, wherever home is. I'm that confident of the condition of thistruck.
The truck is registered in my name, I drive it often and smile ear to ear!Thumbs up frompassersby are a regular occurrence. Lots of miles, lots of smiles andmany many thousands of happy miles left in this beautiful and rarepickup. Trucks like this in this kind of original condition rarelycome up for sale, especially on the East Coast. Comes with a folder ofold service documents to complete this American treasure. I recommendthat you come see the truck, I'm sure that you will not bedisappointed. Call me at (917) 952-1680 to make an appointment or to discuss any questions.
