This is a pretty rare car..its a 1997 Ford Taurus SHO...powered by a 3.4 liter V8...read online that the block was made by Cosworth and the heads by Yamaha. Just bought this car from its second owner...was told it was owned by someone in the military..was bought in GA..then it went to ND. Was purchased by the lady I got it from in 2002 in ND...it came to CA a few years after that. Overall I would say that the car is in nice shape...please remember it is 20 years old. It has a few door dings, scratches, small dings and dents and a few spots on the bumper covers that have been spot painted. There is some crazing in the clear coat on the hood...I was told its due to engine heat...perhaps a good wax job could minimize it. Right under the window seal on the drivers side rear door..the paint is a little thin/gone there...you could probably spot paint it if it bothers you. There are a couple of small dents on the passengers side..but not super noticeable.
That being said..it has a nice look to it...this car was over $32,000 new in 1997 and im sure was one of the most expensive Fords you could buy back then. Adjusted for inflation its near $50k today. Everything ive tested works just fine...power windows, power door locks, sunroof ..power trunk release....etc. I was told the CD changer in the trunk works sporadically..I havent looked into it. The AC works well too. Car has 113k miles and I was told by the previous owner that they replaced the spark plugs, belts and coil packs just a few thousand miles ago. When I bought the car it has been sitting for a few years...I would replace the tires, or at least the front ones.
Car is very unmolestested..still has its original wheels etc...was owned and primarily driven by two women. Has its original window sticker...original owners and shop manuals. Interior is in nice shape..leather seems high quality and thick. Overall interior is nicer than most 20 year old cars...a few flaws in the leather..and the carpet could be cleaned in spots...but the general look of the interior is that this was a garaged, well cared for car. Car also runs very nice and cool...I let it idle in the California heat with the AC on full blast for 30 minutes and the temperature never crept up at all. Temp gauge was below the middle mark and stayed there. Lots of power.
