Before you and up for bid is my 1978 FORD F-150 RANGER Super Cab 4WD. The particulars of the truck are as follows:
* One family owned Colorado ranch truck purchased new by a father and then bequeathed to his son upon his passing.
* Garaged (barn) kept & pampered, non-smoker owned and always conscientiously maintained
* An original truck, not a restored truck
* RANGER trim level
* NO accident history,
* NO rot or rust, as the truck seldom was exposed to adverse winter conditions or corrosives (salt, mag chloride)
* The truck was utilized for general ranch purposes.
* ONLY 86,620 actual miles since new, I personally just drove the truck approximately 2K miles over four days from Colorado to Florida. It ran flawlessly.
* Very RARE, First year availability from FORD for the SUPER CAB in 4WD.
* Part time 4WD, manual locking hubs, low & hi range, NP205 case,fully operational
* 5.8 Liter, 351M engine, original to the truck, starts first turn of the key and holds a smooth steady idle
* C6 Automatic transmission, shifts smoothly throughout
* Transmission cooler
* Power steering, power brakes
* The truck has had one quality repaint in 1999, it was done in the correct FORD code 2U which is "Lipstick Red" & "Antique Creme". The paint still has a very nice luster, however, there is some small bubbling starting to appear, (see pics for reflection)
* Options include the 10 Hole Aluminum Wheels, these are in very good condition, rear sliding window, and the extremely RARE pop out Super Cab windows. I have the original 1978 sales brochure, these windows are featured in the brochure.
* All original glass throughout, NO cracks or chips, both windows roll up and down smoothly, the vent windows and the pop out windows open & close properly, the rear window opens, closes, and latches properly.
* Perfect dash, NO cracks or warps
* Original headliner, in excellent condition
* All weather stripping is soft & pliable
* Original upholstery in great shape, the only wear is to the lower side bolster from entering and exiting the truck.
* The rear jump seats are in excellent condition. The decision to select the Super Cab was partially based on the idea that twin grandsons would be going on many fishing outings...they preferred to ride in the bed and seldom sat in the jump seats.
* Excellent rubber flooring, no cracks
* Nice door panels, the felts are showing their age, I have back ordered a set which will be included.
* Nice grill, NO breaks
* Nice front bumper, good chrome
* Nice bright work, no missing pieces
* Aluminum diamond plate running boards, good condition, I'm sure these would buff to a nice shine
* Good condition tailgate and full 8' bed, minimal scuffs and scratches, no dents (see pics)
* 6400 GVWR
* Recent service including a thorough going over of the truck from bumper to bumper. All fresh fluids, belts, hoses, filters, lines. The battery is recent (6 mos.) The radiator has been replaced along with the water pump and a 180 degree thermostat. It runs very cool with strong compression. Original carburetor was also rebuilt.
* The tires have less than 8k miles on them. They are BFG ALL TERRAIN T/A KO's, size 33 x 12.5 R15. Mounted and balanced they cost $1000.00. They ride great and show no signs of uneven wear.
* The seat belts are all in great shape
* Nice door panels
* Original bottle jack in its under hood provision, tire tool and handle are in their place beneath the seat.
* All buttons, knobs, and stalks are present
* ALL convenience and safety features are fully operational, lights, flashers, parking lights, roof lights, reverse lights, wipers, horn, washer, courtesy lamps, lighter, dash lights, turn signals, ignition key buzzer, etc.
* All instrument displays operate properly, fuel, speedometer, odometer, temp, charging, compression, all monitoring lights as well
* Heat & defrost are fully operational
* The radio is a "retro" FORD AM/FM with an adapter for a CD player
* Excellent sun visors
* The glove compartment door opens & closes properly, the box itself is in great shape
* 2 sets of original keys, owners manual, miscellaneous operational pamphlets and the sales brochure previously mentioned
* Tow package, frame mounted receiver w/ functioning connector
* Clear Colorado title in my name
With the arrival of the 2017 FORD F-150 next month, this truck is now 40 model years old. It is a wonderful old truck that can be a daily driver or one certainly worthy of restoring.
The F-150 Super Cab looks, runs and drives great! It's a classic truck that turns heads everywhere it goes. It is clean throughout, inside, engine compartment and under carriage.
Crew cabs are next to impossible to find, Super Cabs are almost as difficult to find as the crews. As a first year truck, (4WD Super Cab) it will certainly have collectibility status.
Overall, the truck is in very good condition. There are some minor scratches and paint chips. The only damage is a small dent beneath the fuel door at the wheel arch. This is from "Milton" burro.

A $1000.00 initial payment is due within 24 hours of auction close VIA PayPal. NO exceptions.
The balance is then due & payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer.
The balance is to be paid VIA bank to bank wire transfer. I will accept cash in person if you plan to fly in and drive home. I do not accept PayPal for the entire purchase amount, only the initial $1000.00 payment.
The truck and the title to the truck will not be released until payment in full has been received. Upon receipt of payment in full, I will overnight VIA FEDEX the title and bill of sale to the new owner.
