Here's a 1957 Ford Thunderbird that is in very good daily driver condition. Within the past year I have made 2 trips from Southern Oregon (where the car is currently located) to Southern California. The car performed flawlessly on both trips. This car was purchased by my mother from Warren Anderson Ford in Riverside, CA in 1958 and it has been in the family since that time. The engine and transmission were both overhauled by Prestige Motors in SoCal and the engine compartment was fully detailed. Although not a "show car" it is in great condition and could easily be taken to the next level. This car is subject to local sale. This '57 has the original hard top. Please note: 1957 hardtops could be either porthole or the optional non-porthole. Non-porthole tops had the new for '57 Thunderbird emblem, as this one does. This car does NOT have the optional soft top.The color is Coral Sand and is one of the more rare (if not the rarest) of the '57 color options. The engine and trasmission were both overhauled in 2005 and at that time the entire car was gone through to simply make it a safe dependable daily driver. This included new gas tank, new shocks and brakes and many other items. This car has the optional and original FORD FoMoCo script seat belts. Battery is less than a year old. It was last driven 3 days ago and and is driven at least every few weeks. I wound not hesitate to hop in it right now and drive it anywhere. The only modern upgrade is the addition of the radiator overflow tank (why did I wait so long to install it?).All instruments function properly with the exception of the clock, (whichseems to work only once every 12 hours). Odometer reads high when above about 45 mph. Dash/dome light and a couple of instrument lights are inop, (I have several extra bulbs). Heater and blower both work great andwindows function, however the RH side is a little stiff. Town & Country Radio is inop. Despite my substandard record keeping I did turn up the 11/11/2005 invoice for the work performed at that time, (6 pages worth with an itemized total 4.5 times the '57 purchase price of the car). Oil changes (every 3k miles) and preventativemaintenance performed regularly. I have an extra fuel pump (new in the box) along with other small extras, (bulbs, new radio tubes, interiorhardware, tune-up items etc.). Oh......and it's reallyreally fast........no...really.primary listing photo was taken in 1963 and shows my mother, brother and me (plaid shirt) at age 4. Current mileage 158K. Other than the healthy 312 there are NO POWER OPTIONS,i.e.steering, brakes, seat or windows.
