1971 Ford Mustang BOSS Coupe Description

I am offering for sale, my 1971 Mustang BOSS 351. I bought this car from the original purchaser/owner in October 2012. This car has 10,800 original miles, and the car is completely original, down to the windshield wiper blades. It starts, drives, and runs good; but I would recommend a thorough going thru before taking it out on the road as a driver. It is medium yellow gold with black interior. It is 1 of 1 according to the Marti Report with a ring-blow horn, that works. All gauges, lights, and mechanisms work properly. There is no rust to the body inside or out except for under the hood, on the air breather cover, a little on the rims, and surface rust on the window ledges. This was due to lack of attention while under a car cover, in a garage, for over 10 years. Mice contributed to this, but otherwise, the car is great. I used Mystery oil, changed the plugs, oil and filter, inspected the valves, disconnected the fuel pump; and this baby fired right up on the first turn of the key. The exhaust system is all original, but the mufflers are beginning to rot out. All carpet, glass, headliner (with a few mice holes), seats, dash, spark plug wires, every light/lens, spare tire/bottle/jack, wheels/caps, FA-50* air filter, Rev Limiter, carb, distributor, oil stick, are all original. The heater box and glove cardboard is out due to a mice nest that was removed and cleaned. I have all the original parts and an extrafactory heater box, to reinstall. I do not know how it is to be properly installed, so I have not attempted it. This is one of a handful of "Unrestored" 1971 Mustang BOSS 351's" left out there. Only the TRUE Mustang individuals need to bid or inquire about this car. I have had so-called enthusiasts call and low-ball me, and since I do have a real job, I do not need your negative input, telling me how to fix or care for this car, or low-ball offers. I have had National MCA judges look at this car, and I know what I have. I have a clear Louisiana title, and I will assist with transport. I also have extra parts for this car: new front bumper, new carpet, Marti Report, extra set of rolling wheels/tires, small parts that were changed, but kept by original owner, and if replaced did so with factory parts, air cleaner, concourse antenna, and many other parts. This car was also in the Mustang Monthly, in the Rare Finds July 2013 edition. It is truly a Rare Find, but to be honest to you and myself, I will not want to disturb this vehicle by starting a restoration that I will not finish. I have other classics that have my attention, and I would simply like for someone else to give this car a home that would treat her like a lady. My reserve will be a little lower than the BIN. If anyone has any questions, feel free to call me at 337-789-6276. I have it listed on other sites, and will also list it in Hemmings. Since I am only able to include 12 pictures, let me know if you would like to see more, as I have many, and could get whichever shots you would like. Thank you for looking

Everyone, I have had questions about other areas of rust, the undercarriage, and the headliner. The ONLY rust is what is rusted under the hood, on top of the window ledges, in the lips of a couple of the wheels, and on top of the air cleaner lid. All these were due to mice issues. The headliner has some holes in, but I have a new one and was told to leave the original one alone. This car has since been cleaned and sleeps in a dry garage. The floors, trunk, side rockers, frame, and undercarriageare rust free. There is no rust on the body panels at all or around the windshield, or anywhere else. I was told by who I respect as "Experts" on BOSS cars to leave this car As-Is, clean it up, and do not begin a restore. I was also told by national MCA BOSS judges that this car is a "Time capsule" and I should leave it alone, and it may score in the low 90's if judged in the Unrestored class. So I simply did just that. Is this bullshit, I do not think so. This is just a cool, rare car, that would make any Mustang person very happy. Like I said, I ride it around town from time to time, but it will require maintenance if you are to drive it more than that. I have put maybe 20 miles on it since I bought it in October 2012. Thanks for your interest. Feel free to call or email me with any questions. I will upload a picture of the Marti Report soon. Ebay only allows 24 pictures.

I have more pictures of the cowl, the Marti Report, each wheel, inside the trunk, decklid, and others if anyone would like to see them please call or text me and I will send them to you. Ebay does not allow more than 24 pictures, and I cannot delete a few to add more.

The Marti Report states this car had the following added features: Power steering, Rim blow deluxe steering wheel, AM with 8-track, Tinted glass, and Magnum 500 wheels. The order was received 10-23-1970, released 11-27-1970, and purchased 7-10-1971. Of the 1806 Bosses built, this was 1 of 67 painted Medium Yellow Gold, 17 of those had black vinyl seats, 5 had the Magnum 500 wheels, 2 of them came with the 8-track, and only 1 came with the Rim Blow Horn.

Like I said, there is ZERO rust to any of the body panels or the undercarriage, not even a rust bubble on the body. I have decided that if this car does not sell, it will be going to Dallas in November to the Mecum Auction. Thanks again for your interest.
