Up for NO RESERVE auction to the highest bidder is a truck i am selling for a good friend that I have worked with for 20 years. He is the one you will be giving payment to and transferring title with. I saw this truck when he bought it brand new. He keeps his vehicles neat and well maintained and isdefinitely the type of person you want to buy their old vehicle from.It pulled a 5th wheel for a couple years andafter he sold the trailer it just became a heavy duty grocery getter. He had a 100 mile round trip to work and drove it for a few years after and then wised up and bought a car for the commute and then the mileage slowed on this and became a weekend truck. He wanted to sell this 6 months ago and unfortunately for him the transmission gave out at 147K and he had to have it replaced. The receipt in in the pictures, All ford parts and new for converter were used along with all updates.
Exterior of this truck is amazing, I have tried to show the 3 little door dings. At the lower rear of the front fenders the clear coat is marred where a set of mudflaps sat for most of its life before he removed them. At the lower edge of the doors you can see surface rust starting to form. Don't let this worry you, it isn't holes or anything offensive just paint starting to bubble can even see it until you get on the ground. i also see a rust bubble in the paint at the top passenger side of the windshield. He has one of the two front center caps missing and just removed other because it looked better then mismatched. I just bought a set of front for my same truck off of ebay for $45 new. The wheels on front have some white spots from oxidation of clear coat. Tire are great. Bed has rhino lining, has a painted to match tool box in bed. Has electric brake box. All of the expensive brackets and frame structure for a reese fifth wheel are still in truck but fifth wheel hitch he gave to his dad after he sold trailer. It comes with the aluminum fifth wheel tailgate and with the original tailgate. The original was only on truck for a year or so, but it did get some scratches on it in the lower right hand corner. I don't have pictures of this but he did tell. Bumper are nice. For a 15 year old truck I personally think it shows excellent and would give it a 7-8 out of 10.
Powertrain, as I said the transmission is new and has 2000 miles on it, and fresh fluids in transfer case. The engine starts easily in all weather and purrs just as it should. I took the cap of the running engine and didn't see any blow bye. Very tight powertrain. The truck has 410 gears in the axles. mechanically an outstanding truck!! This is all the truck you could get at the time. 1 ton f-350 crew cab dually 4x4, perfect pulling machine! THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER HAD ANY CHIP, COMPUTER, TURNED UP OR ANY OTHER FORM OF POWER ADDDER, 100 PERCENT STOCK, NEVER ABUSED!!!
The interior of this truck is superb! Luckily he didn't get leather, because we all know fords leather makes it about 100k before looking horrible and cracked. It has the tan/camel cloth interior. It has wood grain dash. Has had husky mats in it since day 1. Carpet looks like new, seats look great, no dash cracks, no leather steering wheel wear. No funny smells, cold AC, everything works as it should. The interior is a 9 out of 10 for sure. This truck needs nothing other then a front center cap. It is ready to work or proudly drive down the road and tow in your buddy's 6.0 ford diesel. These 7.3 powerstrokes have a cult following for a reason and ford hasn't made a decent diesel after 2004. It is hard to find these low mileage clean preemmisions 7.3 diesel.
