1986 Ford Mustang LX Convertible
•· The car runs and drives great -- the temperature gauge stays below midpoint in traffic and cruises at highway speeds quite nicely. And the cruise control works!
•· Regularly serviced as the previous owner was very particular about his daughter's car.
•· New master cylinder and battery.
•·Tilt wheel and a nice Kenwood CD player with remote.
•· Southern car from new - no rust!
•· All lights, signals, wipers, horn, etc work. Even the little warning lights on the console indicator work.
•· The AC blows but not cold. Was converted to R134a so should just need a recharge. Also has a power steering leak that I have traced to the high pressure line. Works fine, but needs fluid pretty frequently.
•. Power top works. Has a glass back window. The top itself is pretty ratty and needs to be replaced, but it does keep the weather out.
•. Fender horses, dual-look exhaust, hood blackout stripe and period Eagle Alloys with Cooper Cobra tires really set off the look of the car.
•. Body is very straight with just normal wear for a 30 year old car. Orginally blue, it was painted silver some time ago and that paint job wasn't the best,It has faded on the hood in spots and the trunk. Pictures make the car look better than it really is, but still looks good from 20 feet. And it looks great going down the road. It's a head turner for sure.
•. Interior looks good. Carpet is faded slightly from the sun, and the door panels show wear and curling at the bottoms, but overall it's decent. No major rips in the upholstery. There is a small hole in the backseat.
Overall, this is a solid, rust free, running, driving early Fox body convertible and well worth the money.Drive and enjoy it as is or build it your way -- the possibilities are endless!
